Chapter Fifty-Four

Talia's POV:

As soon as the soft streaks of lights fell on my face, I woke up. Another morning to fight for my survival. It was time to continue the great fight of trying to get through the gates and out of here. It won't be easy. I just had to try.

Stepping out of my hiding spot, I peeked to make sure that the coast was clear. Good a thing it was. The pain in my injured legs and body was subsiding. I could only feel faint discomfort here and there. Carefully, I moved towards the gate, still maintaining the track of the forest. Walking as quiet as a lion on a hunt. Successfully, I came face to face with the gigantic gate. It looked like the Great Wall of China with no means of opening it. I couldn't even see a space for unlocking it. With desperation, I continued to observe it and my worst nightmare happened. I got caught.

Strong hands tripled me. It was Zack. How and when did he get here without me noticing?
