Chapter One hundred and Seven

Nicholas's POV:

After the meal, we were all taken together in a stretched limo to see the shady after-party show. We had great seats and the show was unique. Comedic elements, great music. I'd seen them on late-night talk shows before and wasn't sure what to make of them, but I enjoyed the show a lot. My mind was never too far from my troubles, but I think I was handling myself okay outwardly.

When it was all over, Nicholas was about to get our car but Lang and another of the men, a good-looking guy in probably his early to mid-'30s, Chris, I couldn't recall if his wife's name was Zoey or maybe Amor, I think, but her husband, Chris just kept referring to her as Amor, so I was thinking of her as Zoey Amor They kind of reminded me a little of Beyoncé and Jay-Z. She showed me pictures of their cute kids, four of them, toddlers to teens, and did a lot of culinary names dropping in conversation.
