Chapter Six

Yazoo...

I looked at the contents of my suitcase; it looked as though everything I needed was packed and ready for the move. I rolled my eyes as Kadaj was having an unpleasant conversation with someone, and judging by the lack of response, he was on his phone. A sigh parted my lips, at this point living with my hot-headed younger brother, I've ignored his random, outbursts of energy, as I continued to go back to the task at hand until a knock on my door brought my attention to my visitors to see Graceona and Leonard stepping inside. I looked at them as they looked at me. "If you're looking for Kadaj, his room is next door."

"We heard arguments and thought that you and Kadaj might have been arguing again," Leonard said as Graceona rolled her eyes, looking disappointed, unlike Leonard, who seemed relieved that the home was in order.

"No, we've not talked since earlier in the day. Sounds like someone else is getting that heat. It's none of us. Just let him go, he'll cool off. He's been behaving for some time. This was long overdue." I said as I closed the large suitcase, zipped it up, sitting on the bed.

The house got quiet. "Seems like a lot of things with the three of you have changed, mood changes, success, as well as girlfriends," Leonard said with a grin. "You and Sierra seem to be getting along well."

I looked at him as he was looking at the ring on my finger; I looked back at them. "Yeah, we're still together."

"Together, you two got married and didn't invite us."

I looked at him. "We wanted to tell you and Graceona, but since the two of you have been gone, we went on with it, thinking that you two were too busy to come," I said as I looked at the two of them. "The two of you have missed a lot in a month. Kadaj is also seeing someone, that's why he's calmed down a lot. And Loz, there is a girl who takes him food on his job. She seems interested and Loz dense about her feelings thinks she is being nice."

Graceona sighed. "Poor, dumb, dense Loz. Don't you and Kadaj try to tell him?"

"All the time, but he still has this mindset that girls are gross."

Leonard pinched the bridge of his nose. "Well, considering the fact that he thinks flowers are gross, he won't get anywhere. Girls and flowers are gross, noted. Loz is simple-minded."

"Simple-minded, Leonard. That's the most childish thing for a boy to think of us girls. Simple-mindedness is stretching it a bit. The boy has the body and fighting skills of a machine, but the mind of a peanut, a childlike peanut." Graceona said with another sigh. "The mind of a chestnut with lethal fighting abilities. I don't know if I should feel sorry for him or be afraid of him."

I sighed. "Are you two finished? Kadaj and I have concluded that he is simple-minded weeks ago, Loz is Loz and there isn't anything any of us can say or do to change his mind. He's not having it. Honestly, I'd rather have him being this idiotic child than have to fight what he could be in battle. He isn't committing any sins. Let him go."

Leonard looked at me. "Dang, who ticked you off?"

I looked at him. "It's pointless trying to tell Loz adult things. When he wasn't created with that knowledge, though some of us are changing, we are still remnants of someone. They created us. Let's just go." I grabbed my suitcase, walking towards the door. Leonard grabbed my shoulder as I looked at him.

"What's going on with you?"

"Nothing, let's go. I just need some coffee. Don't worry about it."

I walked away from them and out of the bedroom. "Yazoo, something is wrong with you, and I want to know what it is. Is Kadaj playing mind games again?" I heard Leonard say from behind me.

"No, Leonard. Kadaj isn't doing anything. Unlike the two of you who go off playing Vincent missionaries leaving everyone, Kadaj has been there for me when the man that I looked up to as a father turned us away twice. I wouldn't concern myself with my wellbeing if I were you, you leave us for a year, then come back acting as if nothing ever happened, then now you come back doing the same thing. None of us knows how to take you. Do you want us or not?" I sighed, put my luggage down, returned to my room, slammed the door behind me, locking it.

I bit my lip as a black feather fell to the floor in front of me. I held my head, looking around.

Leonard…

I looked at Graceona who looked at me. She didn't seem angry but saddened by her brother's words, the pain that oozed from the boy that seemed to have held that resentment for many years. I deserved it, telling the three of them I would take them in and be a father to them just to leave them, when they were feeling wanted, feeling as though they had the family they desired, and now it appeared I was doing it once more. I sighed, looking at Graceona. "We got to talk to him, Graceona. We have to get our family back together."

She looked at me, then at the locked door, then back at me. "He locked the door," she said, as she looked at the floor.

"Sometimes we have to enter," the look on the woman's face lit up as I didn't need to finish the statement before the sound of the wooden door hit the floor opposite it. The two of us walked into the room, as Yazoo was struggling to his feet. He looked at us as the sounds of rushing feet came from the other two brothers in the home. Yazoo glared at us as Kadaj's voice rang out. "Don't cry, Yazoo."

Yazoo looked behind us as his face softened. "Brother."

Kadaj walked over to Yazoo, wrapping his arms around him. "Get some sleep, Yazoo. Try to get some rest. He's not here. Take it easy."

Kadaj looked at his brother, who looked at him. Kadaj helped Yazoo to bed, as the long-haired brother lay down.

Kadaj sat in the chair by the bed, as Loz led us out of the room.
