“Mom and dad, I know that you mean well for me and you want the best for me but you need to know that as long as you are tiring yourselves, working so hard to pay off the debts that were incurred around six years ago for me; I feel so sad and it really hurts a lot,” Juan looked at her parents as tears streamed down her cheeks.
Pearle and Randall held each other’s hands as their hearts raced as they listened to their child airing out her grievances to them.
“I have been like this for six years, I lost so many things and have been looked upon so many times that I got tired of it. All I wanted was to be normal again, to be able to take a photo and smile brightly. I also want to walk out there proudly without being looked at like a clown but the reality is just scary. We can’t afford the money, I have saved for six years, and yet it isn’t even a tenth of the money needed, and by now the money should have risen,” she said as she looked at her parents.
“Darling……”
“Mom, instead of letting the money just sit there while we wait for a future, we don’t know anything about, I would rather pay for that debt now. If you feel like this isn’t fair to me, then help me in the future to raise more money for the surgery. But right now, if you consider me your child and care about my feelings, accept the money and pay the debt today!” Juanita seriously spoke as she was no longer in the mood to joke or play around with her parents.
Seeing their serious daughter and her red eyes that were teary from all the silent crying, they knew that they were left with no choice but to accept it. They didn’t want to add more pain to her already.
“If that is what you want then we will take it and pay back the debt but, in the future, we will help with the surgery even if it means selling the house for it,” Randall said as he looked at his daughter sternly.
Seeing that she had won and managed to convince her parents, a smile finally broke out on her face.
“That is good then, I will send the money to your account and you will go right away to pay it, otherwise I will worry,” Juanita was finally at ease now.
This is how Randall left thirty minutes later with his truck to the bank to pay off the debt that had been bugging his family for years. He even put his house as collateral just in case he fails to pay.
To think that what he feared the most still happened, he felt that he wasn’t a qualified father and he had let his child down. He was going to make it up for her in the future, right now paying off this debt was the best.
When he entered the bank, they weren’t shocked to see him anymore as he was a regular there. Randall asked for the manager and he was helped when his time arrived.
Randall left the bank after an hour with a smile as he managed to end this leech of a loan that had been bugging his family for years. He felt as if the burden on his shoulders was finally removed and he felt lighter.
At home, Pearle and Juanita were engaged in many topics that left Juanita blushing all day long whenever she thought about it.
On this day, the couple asked Pearle to stay behind when they go to work and Juan didn’t oppose them as she had received an email earlier that her Baobab online store had been approved.
So, she had a lot of things to do, and remaining behind was the best thing for everyone. With her parents gone, Juanita read through the email once more and with a smile, she logged into the Baobab home page and logged into her account.
The store worked simply, Juan could sell her products normally or auction them. Since her products were not well known yet, she decided to sell a small quantity of her rice while she waited for new products to sell.
Juan left her house and visited the shops where she bought twenty 2kg sacks and returned home. She packed all of them with her delicious rice and sealed them. She then took a photo of one sack and posted it on her Baobab online store she named Mystic as her products were all mysterious.
There was something about the rice that made her confident that everything she will be planting on her farm will be just mysterious than the other.
She didn’t even bat her eyelashes as she set the price of her rice at $100 a bag. If they didn’t want it then it was their own loss, she will just eat it herself. After posting the rice online, she took one 20kg bag and placed it in her house’s pantry.
She also took out some water from the farm and replaced the water that was in the house. She also filled the buckets in the house with the water from the farm. There were cases when water will be closed so it was normal to find some water containers in houses.
She wanted her parents to enjoy what she has as well, if she wasn’t able to take care of her own parents, who else was she supposed to take care of?
What Juan didn’t expect was that, twenty minutes after she posted her product, a commotion happened there. It was the first time they saw rice being sold at such a high price especially a no-named one.
There were many types of rice being sold out there and they were even costly but this was simply too suspicious.
In a certain house, a rich young woman who was bored to death with nothing to do was busy browsing these online stores when she happened to come across the store Mystic.
The reason why she clicked on it was that she fell in love with the name and she was curious about what that store was selling. In her head, she was thinking about some magical products but who knew the only thing sold there was a small sack of unbranded rice?
Was the owner playing games with people? What kind of rice was this expensive?
To her, it wasn’t that expensive, since she could spend more than five thousand daily without batting an eyelash but her curiosity got the best of her. She decided to have a go at this rice and if it fails her, she was going to teach this person a lesson.
She was going to make that store disappear and have the owner blacklisted
forever but that has to wait till she has a taste of it.
