SRISHTI VS SRAVANI

"I am here!" A text message from Sravani changed my direction quickly. Srishti was astonished for a second since I was running towards the college entry gate....

My inner thoughts and voice

That text message is the root cause of both the phone screen brightness and the face glowing with brightness.

According to the laws of motion, my body is running forward, but my soul and brain started running back to the first day I met her...

It all started in intermediate. There is a science-related camp named

"REVIVE-A STEP TO CONSERVE THE PRESENT FOR THE FUTURE"..

It’s a 7-day camp. Day 1 ends up in worthless meetings, useless classes, pointless discussions, and baseless arguments.

I met her on the second day of camp. Honestly speaking, there was nothing special about her, not even a single point of commonality between us, but somehow I started talking to her, and now she became my diary with no dates...

Having nothing special about her is her own speciality.

She came here after visiting her bestie in NIT NAGPUR..

REALITY:

"I AM HERE!!!"

That seven-letter text message made my six senses alert, saying that I had to reach the college gate in five minutes.

I'm looking in all four directions to find her. Holding three bags, making her two silent eyes busy on the mobile phone,

Wearing a dark blue coloured dress, she was the only one who caught my complete attention.

Suddenly, my phone screen popped with another notification: "Sravani sent you a snap."

And it tells her location where she was, as the snap shows the main name board of our college in bold blue letters.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay

I screamed, "Akkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

When I called her, which is the most frequent way I call her, with almost the same frequency, her microscopic eyes zoomed in from her black frame spectacles.

Recognising me, she just smiled like a blossomed flower.

I quickly walked towards her, holding my excitement, but my lips failed in this process.. My face was lit with a smile..

"How are you?" She questioned me by handing over the huge luggage bags she was holding till then, whereas I became a fool who thought to shake hands, but ended up carrying her luggage bags.

These sisters never change.

"I will be fine until you are there for me!!"

My answer made her lips smile a bit wider, indicating that it’s not the first time I've replied to her questions in this manner.

I said, "You look good in dark colors." I gave a compliment, which is the foundation for upcoming comments.

"Yes, I know. One idiot used to say the same compliment till he completed his intermediate.. "

I hope you got the point about my sister.. and the idiot is none other than me.

"How’s Srishti?" She asked for a purpose...

I smiled in silence, since I didn’t have an apt answer.

Okay, okay, "she replied in a very simple tone, which was enough to ruin my whole smile on my lips. I felt like a victim of a crime and was standing in court as a witness.

Until she brought up the topic of Srishti, I don’t even remember her, waiting for me in the canteen.. but I don’t want to go there because my sister is more important than Srishti.. I just want to take care of my caretaker, leaving her baggage in my hostel room. We plotted our way to the nearest cafeteria.

Cafeteria Conversations

"Any meetings?" She inquired, her gaze fixed on mine.

Do you have any mind-reading related topics as a subject in bio informatics? I expressed my scepticism to her...

"No, but why?" She questioned him cordially.

"You know each and everything I am going through. Yes, I met her yesterday.. to be honest, she met me yesterday." I replied..

"It’s not mind reading, you idiot.. it’s all about dark circles under your eyes with a noticeable radius." she replied, sipping her first sip of hot coffee...

I wondered how a BIPC branch girl knew about radius and its application in daily life. I never worried about how she called me.

She always added a few new names to my nomenclature.

When I use the words "branch" or "college" to tease her, her face turns into a red emoji, which I thought was adorable... so I began teasing for every minor reason...

Okay, what’s next? I questioned her tapping on the white table.

"Yes, I want to discuss it with you. I am planning to work for an event organising company.

"Everything under one roof." (a small pause)

Her eyes described that she was totally interested in it, but a small pause proved the fact that she needed time to finalize.

The same thing I conveyed.

"Do you have any friends accompanying you on this project?" I besieged a question.

"Yes," she replied sharply, finishing her last sip of coffee.

I shared a few contacts with my seniors, which can hopefully be helpful.

Suddenly, my phone rang, disturbing the silence. I was busy paying the bill, but Sister couldn’t stop listening to that endless music.

She ended the phone call.

"Dear, where are you? Is everything fine? I want to talk to you. Meet Me Immediately. " Srishti's voice created some sort of tsunami in my small head...

Who gave my phone number to Srishti..?

What’s such an important topic that she wants to talk with me about? These questions disturb the most delicate balance between the cerebral and the cerebellum.

Even paying a coffee bill feels like preparing a state budget.

But more than that, I should cool down my angry sister.

Does she really accept the bitter truth that someone came into my life who can add names to the existing nomenclature?

"Sister, there is nothing like what you think."

So I started my sort of explanation, which seems to be in vain.

"Why are you hiding things from my notice?" Sravani yelled.

Principally, I don’t even hide a small thing from her. She was the only one I had to share everything with. Even though the journey of love hasn’t started, Srishti has started to be the source of my problems.

"No, even I was stunned by hearing the way she made a call." I explained that I was trying to wear a puppy like expression on my face.

"Tell about her," and she resulted in a straight challenge.

It’s as easy as ABC... I am a smooth-tongued person when it comes to this detail.

My memory helped me in memorising her bio data.. finally ended by saying

Sources: Prashanth and Kritika

Does she love you? Her question is a seed in my barren brain, which is going to be a huge forest in the future.

"I don’t know." This is the best answer I had at the tip of my tongue.

"Who the hell is she, to control my brother? I want to talk to her immediately. " My sister’s words sounded like an ambulance. Siren

After a road accident,

She never allows me to be a loser, neither in love nor in life...

She was the only heartfelt well-wisher I had.

I felt a bit relieved, because I have someone in my life who supports me through thick and thin.

But what happens if Srishti meets my sister? That thought killed my inner peace. I started changing the topic on which I completed my PhD.

But my overly intelligent sister smelled my art of escape, and started digging things deeper.

"Don’t you introduce Srishti?" Her question was directed towards the decision of meeting Srishti at any cost.

"Yes," I nodded...

I opened my phone lock at a glance, which gave me a glimpse of this quotation.

Fight For What You Believe In!!!

It appeared like providing a graph paper during a Hindi examination, a total contradiction to my present condition.

The time on my fossil watch reads 12:30, which fueled my thoughts about the consequences of meeting Srishti now...

"Will she wait for me till now? " I asked my sister, expecting a polite answer...

"How can I know about your girlfriend, so-called DEAR?" she replied in a sarcastic way.

"Okay, come on, let’s go!" I replied, pointing my shoe sole towards the door of the cafeteria...

FROM CAFEETARIA TO COLLEGE

I tried calling and texting Srishti in the middle of the journey, but everything seemed pointless.

Then I made a phone call to my friend Prashant to find out about the place where Srishti is...

Suddenly, my TV 9 reporter became my Google maps... I thanked God for gifting me a friend like Prashant.

Srishti is at OT (Open Theatre). So, my sister and I took a few more steps to reach there.

Once we are there at that location, it’s a cake walk for me to find Srishti.

Srishti's lavender dress made it easy to find her. I shouted her name just like Ravi Shastri's commentary in the World Cup finals.

Her beautiful eyes stared at us. Srishti's eyes were filled with excitement, as if the prime minister had visited our campus to congratulate her...

I can find rising momentum in her footsteps, which is the starting process of a running hug... My brain grinned at the thought of stupid consequences.

"You are lucky," my sister whispered in a low tone that only my heart and ears were permitted to hear. Even she was mesmerised by Srishti’s lavender coloured long dress.

Her momentum was stopped by hugging my sister...

What the hell happened? My inner voice shouted, since my outer voice stammered...

For a second, I was dumbfounded.

"What a sudden surprise! How are you, Sravani Sister?" Srishti said, hugging my sister.
