A LESSON

*Audra's POV, past.

I tried to hide my surprise as best as I could, as I was sure he was doing this to teach them a lesson. Still, it was hard for me not to have flashbacks to the waterfall moment.

"You alright?" Chris said, all his attention on me as if they didn't even exist. He caressed my face with one of his knuckles.

He was playing pretend but by the look on his face, his question was genuine.

"Perfectly fine, I was just about to leave."

"Let's go then." He swiftly turned and grabbed my hand on his.

I spared a glance at their faces as I turned away, cause their perplexed faces were surely an image I did not want to miss, and I did not regret it.

As we got out of the gym and into the hall, some of the guys on the team were there, Kyle included. They all turned to look and were quick to notice the fact that we were holding hands. No one said anything, but I could tell by their looks that they were surprised.
