MOTHER’S WISDOM

*Audra's POV, past.

After the rush of blood and the scare, I calmed a little. But my heartbeat was still accelerated when my mother peeked through the open door, knocking on it slightly beforehand.

I hoped I didn't look too flushed, my mom and I got along well, so, I always thought that I would let her know once I had feelings for someone and I would tell her myself rather than her find out about it like this. Besides, it would be most embarrassing…

"Hi, Mom!" I said in the most normal tone I could muster.

Chris said the same just a few seconds after. I kept my eyes on my mom so I could avoid eye contact with Chris, almost sure that I might turn all flustered again just by looking at him.

"How are you both? How was your day?" My mom asked with a smile. She looked tired as she had been working extra hours lately but she still managed to give us a genuine smile and take the time to check on us as much as she could.
