DARK CLOUD

What started as such a happy, beautiful day, ended up ruined with bad news.

Although nothing was definite, both of us had a terribly empty feeling in our stomachs, and anxiousness and worry filled our thoughts. Chris acted like he had been transported into another body, never have I seen him so nervous, he paced around nonstop; got out of the house, sat on our bench for five minutes, and then back to pacing.

He didn't talk and acted distant.

Watching him like that was like a dagger in my heart but I didn't know what to do. The least I wanted to do was give him empty words of encouragement or false hopes as I couldn't be sure of the intricacies of the law.

To make matters worse, it was Saturday and there was no way we could clear these things with a lawyer till Monday.

Just when everything started to look brighter for both of us, I cursed inwardly.

_

We didn't have dinner.
