The Shame of Tyla

Tyla couldn't believe everything that had happened the night before. For one, she had been forced to marry William as a Moon Bride. If that wasn't bad enough, she'd been kidnapped afterward by the Darkest Moon Pack, along with her new groom. Even after their failed escape attempt, things got even worse because now apparently her sister was bonded to the pack leader, Ram. It was the strangest night ever. To make it even odder, the pack wasn't treating them badly or like a hostage. Instead, they were now given a nice bedroom and bathroom to stay in, which was a much-appreciated upgrade from the barn they were shoved into at first. Sure, their chambers were in a basement with no windows or way to escape again, but it was better than being tied up next to horse manure and haystacks. The upgrade was most likely due to the leader being bonded to her sister, but maybe that same connection would lead to their safe release soon.

"I told you, I don't want to talk about it." Tymarie was sitting next to her on the bed, groaning as though she was having another pain.

"You have to talk about it, Tymarie." Tyla urged her. "We're stuck in the basement of your boyfriend's house and you're not telling me what's going on."

"He's not my boyfriend. I told you last night, I don't know anything more than you." She closed her eyes as though the ache in her body was too much to bear at the moment. Soon, she sighed, as though the pain had faded. "I didn't know he had you until you escaped. I would've never been okay with that."

"You barely said anything to us last night. We need answers. It's our lives on the line" Tyla said.

"I don't know anything." Tymarie sighed.

"Well, have you heard them planning anything? Did anyone mention anything you can think of?" William joined in. "Anything at all that can help us?"

"No." Tymarie rolled her eyes at him. "I literally just told you I don't know a damn thing."

"Tymarie, please. Think hard." Tymarie kept at her.

"I said no!" Her sister yelled as she jumped up from the bed and paced the room.

"There's no point," William told Tyla. "Your sister is with that scarred creep. She's not going to help us because she's on his side now."

"William, tell me, how'd that girlfriend of yours enjoy the Moon Pairing ceremony?" Tymarie smirked. "Sasha is her name, right? All of us Moon Brides used to see her pretty much stalking us when we were leaving our classes. She was such a joke. I wish I was there to see her face when you married my sister."

"Tymarie, stop." Tyla grabbed told her.

"It's okay, Tyla." William grinned. "Your sister is just mad that she got bonded to such a gross, ugly, beast."

"Screw you!" Tymarie picked up a lamp and started to throw it at William, but Tyla grabbed and stopped her sister.

"What's gotten into you? Are you crazy?" She took the lamp from her and set it down nearby.

Sure, Tymarie could be bitchy and snappy, but she'd never seen her sister act so violently as she had been since the night before. First, the female tried to take on Alpha Ram and his whole pack, now she was trying to attack William, when they needed to be focusing on the fight to escape, instead of fighting each other.

After returning to the packhouse with Ram the night before, William and Tyla were forced to be locked into the basement bedroom, but Tymarie chose to go there with them. Still, her sister didn't say much about the situation after arriving, claiming to be ill with some kind of stomach pain as she crawled onto the floor and slept near the door. William and Tyla were exhausted as well and soon felt safe enough to sleep nearby in the bed, pillows between them.

"She's his spy." William accused her sister. "Think about it, she's only in here with us to spy and report back to him."

"Report what? That you're an asshole that probably owes the pack money or some shady shit that got my sister into this mess?" Tymarie growled.

"Okay, enough." Tyla intervened. "None of this is helping. My sister is mated to that Alpha, which we all know is out of anyone's control. She can't help who she's bonded to, right? It doesn't mean that she wanted any of this or that she is in on it."

William sighed, knowing that Tyla was right, but Tymarie shook her head and growled again as she passed William on the way to the bathroom. The door slammed behind her, and the sound of the shower got loud.

"Tyla, you have to be realistic here, if she's his bonded mate, then she will be on his side always. Even if your sister loves you, the bond to him is stronger than her love for you." William whispered.

"Okay, so what am I supposed to do, turn on her? She's my sister and she's down here with us, not up there with him."

"So, let's use this to our advantage."

"What do you mean?" Tyla questioned.

"The bond, it's just as strong for him as well. His bond to her is stronger than anything to him; stronger than his plans, stronger than duties, stronger than his desire to keep us locked up in his basement."

"What is your point?"

"We use her to get out of here," William whispered, but Tyla still didn't understand what he meant. "If he thinks that her life depends on it, he'll be forced to let us go."

"I'll never hurt my own sister."

"I'm not asking you to." He explained. "I'm saying all we have to do is make him think that she's in danger, no need to actually hurt her, we can pretend. Hold her hostage, demand our release."

"I can't do that. She's my sister."

"She's our chance to get out of here. We can't save her without saving ourselves first."

"Maybe she's not in danger. Maybe none of us are in danger, William. They haven't hurt us, and he promised that he has no intentions of that. Maybe he has a reason for kidnapping us and a reason for keeping us safe."

"William, in the woods, how were you suddenly able to shift to your wolf?" She asked. The two of them had tried multiple times to change, but each time they were unable to, cursed by their upbringing that unfortunately didn't include the Moon as much as it should've.

"I don't know." He stepped towards her. "I just…I was overwhelmed with a madness, a rage that made me want to murder anyone that tried to harm you. I can't explain it. I felt my wolf's anger and then, boom, I shifted faster than I ever have in my life."

"I thought you left me behind." She wouldn't have blamed him if he had. It may have been the smarter decision than to turn back around and be caught by the back with her. Coming back was the more honorable choice, and she respected and admired him for that. "Thank you for coming back."

"Yeah, well, a lot of good it did." He shook his head in despair. "I wasn't able to save you."

"You came back when most males would've kept going."

"I want to keep you safe," William said. "I want…" His fingers ran down the line of her face. The touch made her heart skip.

"William…" She reached up and took his hand in hers.

His handsome face looked down at the ground like her was ashamed of his own feelings. She wasn't sure if it was a shame from not being stronger or shame of feeling so strongly for her that was weighing so heavily on him.

There was a strong rush through her body, like a wave of desire that poured through her so quickly she almost let a moan slip from her lips, but Tymarie swung the bathroom door open, interrupting the moment with the great timing that she always seemed to have.

"I can't take this anymore." Tymarie went to the door and banged on it loudly.

Soon, a guard called from the other side.

"What?" The guard yelled through the door.

"Get Ram," Tymarie yelled back.

"He's busy." He told her.

"I don't give a shit!" She screamed. "Tell him his mate said get down here right fucking now!"

Tymarie slumped down to the floor and curled up in a ball.

"What's wrong?" Tyla dropped down beside her.

"It hurts. Everything hurts." Tymarie's face was pale, and her lips began to tremble from the pain.

"What's happening?" Tyla asked. "William, help me get her to the bed."

William bent down and picked up Tymarie, but as he laid her down on the bed, the female's eyes closed, and she went unconscious.

"Tymarie!" Tyla screamed as she shook her sister. "Tymarie, wake up!"

"Help!" William yelled to the guard. "The Alpha's mate needs help, now!"

As the door opened and the male came in, William's eyes met Tyla's, and she knew that he wanted to use her sister's condition as an opportunity to escape.
