Tyla's Warmth

A few minutes had gone by since Ram had scooped in and taken Tymarie to a healer. Helpless, Tyla could only watch as they took her ill sister away. But as Ram and his men urgently rushed off with the female, they had carelessly left the door open and unlocked. From the looks of it, both the bedroom and basement doors were open and unguarded at the moment.

"This is our chance to get out of here," William whispered to Tyla as he nodded towards the wide-open bedroom door. "We need to make a run for it."

"What if they are right outside the basement door?" She asked him. "What if we are just walking right into a trap?"

"Tyla, we won't get another chance like this. Come on." He stepped towards the door. "Let's go."

"No." Tyla grabbed his arm and urged him to not act so hastily. "I don't think we should."

He pulled his arm away from her and grabbed her by the shoulders.

"Damn it, Tyla. We don't have time for this." He shook her. "Pull yourself together and let's get the hell out of here."

Her heart sank as she stared into his blue eyes. This male was now her Moon groom and she felt herself feeling loyal to him, but Tymarie was her sister and Tyla couldn't just desert her.

"William, I can't leave my sister behind. I don't know what's wrong with her or if she's going to be alright." Tyla stepped back away from him and sat down on the bed.

"Damn it, Tyla." He dropped down in front of her, his knees on the floor, and his hands on her thighs. "You can't do this. We need to escape. Tymarie is Ram's bonded mate, she'll be protected by him and his men. They will do everything they can to make sure that she is healthy and alive. The same can't be said for us. We have no idea why they kidnapped us or what they plan to do with us. Sure, they have treated us okay, but they can turn at any point and do whatever they want to us. Just get up and run with me. We can go back to our packs and send help for your sister."

"No, I can't." She refused.

"Tyla." His face was full of frustration as he begged her once more. "Come on, please."

"William, I'm not leaving without knowing that my sister is okay." She grabbed his face and pulled it up to look into her eyes. "But I know you must go. I understand. I don't blame you. You stayed for me once before, but I won't let you stay again. Go."

"You can't do that." William shook his head in anger and hindrance. "You can't expect me to leave without you. You can't make me choose."

"I'm choosing for you." She kissed his forehead. Her lips tingled as she felt the warmth of his skin against them. "Go. Leave. If you believe that you can escape and get our packs for help, then I want you to go."

"Tyla…" His voice was weak.

"Now!" Tyla shoved him back and he fell onto his ass. She hated how surprised he was by her push, but she knew that he was more in danger than her there. Tyla was the Alpha's mate's sister, he was just a male. And male wolves loved to find reasons to fight other males. It was only a matter of time before a pack member would find that excuse and attack William. "Just go home to your girlfriend already."

The words left her lips as means to anger him into leaving, but they felt like daggers to her own heart as she said them. He felt the stings as well, it was all over his face, but he nodded and stood up. William rushed to the door and began his escape. Tyla looked the other way, unable to see him go. Seeing him leave her behind would be too much on her breaking heart.

Just as he left the room, shooting pain echoed through her stomach. She cried out as she curled up in a ball and tried not to puke. The sound of her cries must have been loud enough to call William back to her. He ran back into the bedroom, rushing to her side in a panic.

"What's wrong? What happened?" He asked frantically.

"I don't know. It hurts so bad." Another wave of aches rushed over her, and she whelped out.

"Tyla?" He brushed her hair over her face and put his hand on her forehead. "You're burning up. What's wrong?"

"William," She grabbed his hand and squeezed it. His touch brought some comfort, but the pain was still there. "Go, you still need to go. Don't stay because of me."

He looked at her intensely and then he let go of her hand to go. She instantly missed his comfort, but she knew he needed to get out of there.

"Help!" William screamed out. "I need help down here right now!"

She felt tears in her eyes as she realized that the male had chosen to not leave her, again. Two males came running down to the basement and into the bedroom.

"She needs a healer. Please, get a healer!" William demanded.

"The healer is with our Alpha." One of the explained. "We can't interrupt them."

"I'm sure your Alpha will be pissed to hear that you refused his mate's sister healing," William growled.

"Fine. Go get Beta Payne and tell him what's going on." The male told the other.

A few minutes later, the Beta Payne came into the room.

"What now?" He asked with irritation.

"Something's wrong with her," William told him. "She's in a lot of pain and she's burning up."

"Our men went to get the healer. This better not be some kind of attempt at tricking your way out of here." Payne said.

It only took a few more minutes for the healer to arrive. She was an older woman with two long silver braids of hair hanging over her shoulders. In her hand, she had a bag with supplies.

"I am Iris." The old woman sat the bag down next to the bed and leaned over to look at Tyla. "And this is the female that's taken ill?"

"Yes. She's Tymarie's sister." Beta Payne told her.

Tyla turned over to face her.

"What's bothering you girl?" Iris asked.

"Everything hurts. I think I might puke." Tyla said.

"Do you think it's the same thing as her sister?" William asked, but the woman ignored him.

"Where do you hurt most?" The woman reached out and felt Tyla's head.

"First it was my stomach, but now I am in pain so bad on the inside of my thighs."

Iris's eyes widened.

"And this?" Iris put pressure on Tyla's lower stomach, and she winced in pain. "How about this?" Her hand pushed on Tyla's breast, and she cried out.

"What is it?" Payne asked, but once again the woman ignored the question.

"Are you her mate?" She asked William.

"I am her husband by the Moon Pairing a few days ago." He told her.

"Everyone but him, out!" Iris yelled.

"But…" The Beta Payne tried to question her, but she put up her hand and stopped him.

"I need everyone but her mate out. This female is in heat." She told them.

Payne's face went pale and then he yelled out.

"Everyone, out of the house, now!" The Beta nodded at William and then looked over at Iris. "I will lock them in as soon as you come out." He told the old woman before disappearing into the basement.

"I don't understand," Tyla said. "Did you say heat? I'm in heat? My people don't go into heat."

"The wolf goes into heat, whether you want to or not." Iris grabbed Tyla's hand and put a cup of tea in it. "Drink this, it will help with the aches."

"I should go." William said.

"No!" Iris yelled at him. "You will be the only male to stay. Your pack has abandoned the Moon too long, so you are unfamiliar with the heat. When females go into heat, the pain is relentless and last for days, even weeks. It's misery. But if she mates with a male, then it will make the pain subside and the heat won't last nearly as long. The heat draws male wolves in and can be impossible for them to turn away from. If a male is near her, his desires for her will be uncontrollable. That's why no other males can be in this house but you."

"I have to mate with her?" He asked.

"You are her Chosen Moon Groom, her husband. Her mate. I can't make you mate with her, but I can't see why you would choose not to. You'd leave her in severe pain and agony. Unless another male takes your place."

"As if I'd just screw any male?" Tyla was offended.

"Honey, once this heat gets stronger, you will." Iris shrugged. "The desire works both ways. You will have uncontrollable urges and pain. You'll beg any male to mate with you."

"You've got to be kidding me," Tyla said before another wave of pain rolled over her and she cried out in agony.

"It's fully up to you, girl." Iris grabbed her bag. "Only you can consent. I will make him leave with me if you don't want him. We will lock you in and not let anyone male near you until the heat passes."

"I'm going to go," William said as he turned to leave with Iris.

"No!" Tyla reached out and grabbed his arm. "Don't leave me. I want you. I want you here with me."

William sat down beside her and agreed.

"I will return to check on you and I'll bring food and water. Just remember, it's not permanent. It'll pass." Iris closed and locked the bedroom door from the other side after leaving.

Tyla had heard stories about females in heat, but her pack no longer experienced them, so she never saw one coming her way. The pain that was radiating through her body made the idea of having sex make her sick, but as she looked up at William, the urge to kiss him and rub against him grew stronger.

Yep. It was starting. The desires were beginning to outweigh the pain and she wondered how long she would be able to control herself before ripping William's clothes off and having her way with him.
