Ch 2 - Proven Related By Blood

As the four of them drive away from the airport, Michelle looked at the still down Will, "So, don't you want to tell me about her?" She asked as she was driving her old SUV down the highway towards Mid-town Los Angeles.

Will looked at her and at the two sleeping boys on the back seat, then he went silent for a while.

"Her name is Laura... Laura Rosemarie, a Jew orphan."

"We met on my 3rd semester. At the time I thoughts she'll be like the others before" Will chuckled slightly.

Michelle looked at him amused, "What? You mean like those hidden-slut kind of girl you've dated before?" She laughed.

Will also laughed at that, "Yeah I thought she was like that at first, but then... As days become months, and months become years, I felt something... Something different from her. I've never felt something like this before with those girls. It feels like... We were just meant to be... Together." He said in melancholy.

"At one time I tried to leave her as I still wanted to chase my dream. But... I can't... I just can't, it's as if my soul has been hollowed out without her. Being with her I've learned so much about the world more than what I learned for 19 years in this world. She also changed my stereotype of what Jewish people were like."

"She didn't have a superiority of a jew, she didn't discriminate other religions, heck, she even have a muslim best friend. She was perfect in my eyes, it's like she's the brightest light I've ever seen in my life."

Michelle just looked at Will's face full of nostalgia, "So she's 'the girl' in your eyes?" She asked.

"Yeah, she's 'the girl' in my eyes" Will smiled while wiping his slightly wet eyes.

"You know what? Sometimes people come and go from our lives. Some temporarily, while others forever." Michelle said after a minute of silence.

"In 1992, when I was still wiping yo' ass in New York..." Will laughed at that, "I got a call from my friend in LAPD." Will gradually gone silent, "At that time, I thought my child had gone into trouble, or his pa' gone too drunk on the streets. But instead what she told me is that my husband is dead in a riot. I was angry and panicked, thinking that this n**** is playing a bad joke with me. At that time, the fuckin' riot has only been going for less than thirty minutes, so the new york media hasn't had any time to report it on TV." She said slowly.

"I was devastated at that time. Feeling like a part of me has been shattered to pieces like glass. In the afternoon I quickly bought a ticket straight to Los Angeles. When I saw Jack's body I straight up cried. Cried like a baby girl, screaming and shits. But as months goes by, I started to realize that I still have a kid to raise, to feed, to teach. So I tried to move on little by little, and keep going forward for him." She glanced at the sleeping twins on the backseat for a while.

"I know how hard it is to raise a kid by yourself, and I could've imagine how harder it is to raise a twin like yours. But they also gave you twice or even more reasons for you to move on and go forward." She said.

For the rest of the road, silence looms over the car until they arrived to the apartment. Will walks out of the car and move all his belongings to the front of the apartment with Michelle's help.

"Alright! We've arrived. I've already renovated the house a little bit. The basic necessities such as Stove, Refrigerator, tableware, bed, cradles are already inside, and the water and electric bill for the next two months will also be covered by me. Also, if you're out to search for jobs opportunity, I can babysit the twins for you." She said as she gives the apartment's key to Will.

Will took it gratefully and hugged Michelle, "Thank you Michelle, I don't know what would I do without your help" He said.

"Well, you'll pretty much ended up in the streets with two babies in your arms." She said as she kissed the twins and waved goodbye at Will. Before she turn to a corner, she stopped to look at Will, "Good luck kid. You need that." Then she proceed to walk out of sight.

Will smiled at that, "Thank you..." He whispered.

Then he looked at the two boys who started to awaken from their sleep. They looked around at their new home curiously.As if sensing the stare from their father, both of them looked at their father almost at the same time.

Will opened the apartment's door and smiled at them, "Let's Start Our Brand New Beginning."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Apartment's parking lot, a few minutes after Will had settled down in the new apartment with the twins.
Michelle was seen sitting inside her car as she waited in it while looking at the phone on the passenger seat. She's been waiting for it to ring for more than 10 minutes.
~Ring!!! Ring!!!~
Suddenly the phone light up and a ring tone was heard. Michelle grabbed the phone and picked up the call.
"How is it?" A female voice was heard from the speaker.
"He had arrived with the twins." Michelle answered.
"How is he?"
"He was mostly fine on the outside but he's still mourning about Laura."
Strange silence enveloped both of them.
"..."
"..."
"What about the twins?"
"Sigh... Marie, how long will both of you do this to your own child? He had already suffered enough from that stubborn guy you called husband. Will you also do the same thing to him?" Michelle asked helplessly.
"I know Michelle, but I could only help him secretly through you or his father would be able to notice it. All i can do is helping him financially from you, at least until he have a stable income." The woman called Marie replied helplessly.
"Marie, what your son needed the most right now is a family to talk to. What he needed more is Moral Support, not financial."
Silence once again enveloped both of them.
Marie's voice came out of the phone, breaking the silence, "Sigh... I know Michelle, I know... I know about it more than you think. I really really wanted to go to Los Angeles right now to support him. But I can't possibly go against my own husband publicly. It will damaged our family's image."
"I could only hope that Will can change my husband's thinking of what an actor is. We can only hope that he can convince my husband about his ideals, and that his ideals is not just an empty childish dreams." She continued.
"I hope so... Although I don't know when that day will come, but I believe he could do it... Alright then, your family drama made me tired." Michelle said jokingly.
"Yeah, thanks Michelle, I don't know what will happen to my son without your help." Marie said gratefully at the other end of the phone then end up the call.
"Chuckle... I guess that proves that both of you are related by blood..." michelle laughed while starting up the car to go home.
