Black Edition - Teach me how to fight! (1)

Switched World - The God of High School

South Korea

Kai stepped out from a blue-black portal, dressed in a black jacket, black jeans, and black sports shoes.

This Kai was a bit different though.

He had short black hair and his eyes were blacker than black. When he walked, there was an air of casualness about him, making him appear… much, much calmer than the Kai on the other side of the vanishing portal.

Kai paused and took a deep breath, filling his lungs with the freshness of this new world.

The invisible Yellow Cloak, an Artifact given to him by none other than a Deep One, Death the Artificer, rippled, resonating his powers with that of the Timeline's. Now, no matter how one would look at him, they wouldn't be able to tell him apart from an in-world Character to a Contestant… or an Item.

Kai looked around and nodded to himself upon seeing the dense forest.

He was in a mountainous region, far from the hustle and bustle of the cities and the prying eyes of the government.

It was also the place where Kai would find the man he was looking for.

First thing first, he thought, smiling.

The current world of the God of High School was in synchronization with the Primordial Tower. It meant time would run much faster here, compared to the Harry Potter World of Kai's Main Mission because of the Divergence.

I need to go back before Hogwarts admittance, Kai thought, the Ad Infinitum laying out a detailed timeline of the events in his mind. Let's stretch the Side Mission's Time Limit to 11 months then.

The Switched World wasn't a Verse Fusion Random World. Nonetheless, it still took him nearly a million Mission Credits because the length of time-stretch was just too long.

When it was done, Kai sighed, his shoulders always relaxed. Now he could really put his mind to the task he was here for.

To learn how to fight…

… from one of the strongest humans known across the Multiverse.

"Ad Infinitum, lay out all the possible locations of Jin Taejin," Kai ordered the AI.

Kai had chosen the time five years after Jin Taejin returned from North Korea, carrying a baby Jin Mori with him.

In the last three years after his return from Island X, Kai, Item-M, Moraine, and Red Sun had been laying out detailed plans.

Where must he go? What must he do? Whom must he meet? Whom must he avoid?

When exactly should he appear in a Timeline?

There was a reason for Kai to not directly drop into Jin Mori's timeline. Sure, he could also learn Martial Arts while fighting with Jin Mori in the tournament. But, in that case, he would miss a great opportunity.

Among the many ways to obtain a Multiverse identity of this world, one was to become Jin Taejin's student.

It was then Kai and others had decided to treat this world as a long-term project, where he would keep returning for major events, obtaining different Skills, Milestones, and Items with time.

Suddenly, a map appeared in Kai's pupils, marking several locations in red.

Kai crouched, and with a bang, he disappeared.

Deep into the forest,

"Haha! Not like that," Jin Taejin said, laughing. He raised his foot and brought it down again in a beautiful arc. "Like this."

"Hai!"

The 5-year-old Jin Mori looked at the old man with stars in his eyes. Then he immediately began replicating the moves with his chubby legs.

Near them, just behind the first line of trees, there was a monk, seated in a meditation posture. He was wearing a yellow tunic over baggy maroon pants, tied using a sash at the waist. Over his tunic, he had an orange cloak draped over his shoulders.

Also, on his bald head, there was a blue-colored tattoo of an arrow.

He was Monk Hori, the current Top-level 9th Floor Contestant from Order's Peak.

He was also the Inheritor of Fire Nation-born Avatar Roku, preceding Avatar Aang.

He was also…

… the Prime-Protector of Jin Mori.

Both Chaos and Order assigned Guard Missions to the Contestants.

The Systems didn't assign a title to these Contestants. But from the power levels, even a fool could tell that there was a simple theory behind the assignments.

For Major Support Characters, there were Protectors, like Moraine the Elegant in the Pirates of the Caribbean World. For Major Side Characters, there were Lead-Protectors.

For the Main Characters, there were Prime-Protectors.

The thing was, whenever Kai assigned a mission, he specifically designed it around a Major Side Character. Because of this, there wouldn't be Lead-Protectors and Prime-Protector in that World.

From Monk Hori's appearance, it was clear that something had gone wrong with Kai's Side Mission's assignment this time.

Chunks of Earth, Beads of Water, and Rolls of Air danced around Monk Hori as he watched the Jin duo. With his every breath, the temperature in his immediate surroundings kept fluctuating, rising and falling as if the very space itself was breathing.

Because of the Guard Mission, Monk Hori didn't have to worry about getting seen by the in-world Characters. However, if he wanted to, he could reveal himself to them anytime.

He could watch the Main Character all day, and learn through him if he could. Countless Contestants would die to get such an opportunity, he knew.

The only downside was that he was just too restricted by his Guard Mission.

Why isn't the Lead-Protector here yet? Monk Hori thought, pressing his brows. He should have arrived with me yesterday.

Then it happened.

Out of nowhere, as if the boiling oceanic waves under the full wrath of a thunderstorm had just settled down, a Calm took over everything.

Monk Hori's heart went quiet.

The birds stopped chirping.

The very world refused to show any signs of life.

Except for the in-world Characters, everything seemed to have fallen into a trance.

A man, dressed in a black jacket and black jeans, walked up to Monk Hori from behind and came to stand on his left, eying Jin Taejin.

Absolutely horrified, surprised, and stunned, Monk Hori dared to lift his gaze and look up to his left.

Calm looked back at him, his black gaze gentle, and his smile gentler than the spring's breeze.

"Hello," the man said, smiling as if he was meeting a friend he had known for ages. "Quite a show we have here, no?"

Monk Hori couldn't look away from that black gaze. He was seeing something there. It was like seeing into the deep space and spying a river of stars.

It was beautiful.

It was yellow.

"Hello," Monk Hori replied after an instant, two yellow-colored crystals bobbing up and down in his brown eyes. "So you are the Lead-Protector?"

The man's smile broadened. "Of course."
