Chapter thirty-four

I have never been happier to see the agency building.

All I could think of was hot showers and a lavish meal. Diana had recovered most of her strength halfway back to the headquarters.

We took turns driving back as everyone was exhausted. It almost felt like we came back from a war.

At the headquarters,

We returned the remaining equipment we had since most of them had been taken by them.

I thought it was them that took it from us at first. The place looked dull and very few people were moving about.

I brushed it off thinking maybe we were part of the first batch to return.

But one thing is for sure not everyone will come back alive if they were doing the same mission.

From the corner through a glass I saw two people watching us. It was faint but I'm sure I saw a small smirk on his face while he looked at me. 

I bent my head down, increasing the pace as I walked back to my room.
