Chapter forty-nine

I poured my morning coffee, sipping slowly as I drifted into my scheduled morning daze, smacking my lips together.

It was dull, I didn't get enough sleep. The day was just about right. I thought of the dinner I had with Alex then after that the unusual fixed gaze we had outside the restaurant. Till when Blake saw me outside the company then the argument at the HQ.

Still, I couldn't click what went wrong. Alex could be our target. If I was ordered to kill would I be able to?.

I brought the glass cup to my mouth, sipping some more coffee. I let the bittersweet taste run through my buds.

"You overthink things too much," Charlie said as she came out of her room with a book in her hand. She sat on the kitchen counter opening a cereal box as she helped herself to a bowl and a carton of milk.
