Present Day
The new chambers might as well have been in the Royal Apartments, Sylvin noted as he paused outside the door. He could see the guards outside the King’s door from his own, which meant that the guards were effectively guarding both doorways and spying on the activities of those of the Silver Dragon’s household.
A clever tactic by Macedius, Sylvin thought to himself ruefully.
The main chamber followed the décor styles of most of the apartments, light flowing curtains, upholstered furniture in rich fabrics, and elegantly carved furnishings. He would give it a week, he supressed a smile, until the pages and squires destroyed half of the furnishings with their carelessness.
The main chamber held Faelar and Greshyn drinking dark ale and playing a board game. Faelar rose to his feet. “My Lord Sylvin,” he said.
“Lord Faelar,” Sylvin inclined his head. “Thank you for your continued care of my wife.”
