Present Day
There was something magnificent about watching so many dragons flying overhead, Sylvin thought as he watched Rielle spiral in the sky with her shadow of dragonets, giving last minute flight instructions before they began the journey across the channel. All but one egg had hatched, and eleven dragonets followed behind their mother.
The final egg Sylvin had assisted Rielle carrying out over the water, as was dragon tradition, giving back to the world the one that was not ready to be born. Her grief had been terrible to see, but she had found comfort in the hatchlings that had survived.
“A fine day for it,” Paryden commented coming to stand beside Sylvin in the courtyard. “And a wonderful sight to behold, so many dragons flying in the sky. I wish you all the best with your flight and hope that your landing offers some peace regarding the Queen…”
