Chapter 25: The Governments at it's Last Stand

At least he thought it would make Lucas's life difficult.

We move back from the Laundry Mat and move to someplace oddly familiar. To the outskirts of Ironwrought... To the compound.

The place had changed a lot since the General had put his first bounty out for Lucas's head. There were clearly many rings of defenses added on to the previous layers that had occupied the stone fort. Some mechanical, others magical.

The General sat still at his desk looking at the report in front of him with a look of disbelief clearly etched upon his face.

Three bulletin points were clearly laid out on the otherwise blank page. A large portion of documents remained below it but these seemed to be the general consensus of huge portions of research.

The General's eyes scanned the first line and the disbelief became more prominent upon his face.

Cumulative research:

-Lucas Walker is The Strongest Man on Terra.

The General's eyes seemed to understand the content but still didn't believe it.

'Not even with all our advancements as of late...'

The next line of research read as follows:

-Tyrance has formed a new country known as Elysium

'This is... beyond anticipation.' The General thought as he stared at the words and read them over and over again.

'We are barely able to hold off the beasts let alone remaking the country...'

The next line followed and with it, The General felt his heartache in agony.

-We are watching you, Connor Thum.

It wasn't a name that the General had heard in a long time. It was a name that he had left in the past... The name of his past self... The name of him before he reincarnated.

'This can't be!' Connor thought to himself as sweat soaked his brow.

Connor stood up abruptly and looked at his trusted advisor at his side and began to speak hurriedly.

"Who made this brief!?" He shouted.

A man who looked to be in his late teens stood at Connor's side and looked at him with amusement etched on his face.

"Well... that would depend." The advisor said in an indecisive voice.

"Who wrote it up!? Who finished it!?" Connor confirmed.

"That would be the head researcher then." The advisor said simply.

Connor breathed in deeply and realized he was losing his temper.

'Calm down Connor...' He thought to himself as he controlled his breathing to match the rhythm he had learned during his time at war.

"Fetch him, would you?" He asked calmly and politely.

The late teen nodded and left the room quickly. On the long walk to the laboratory, however, the man stopped.

He smirked and looked at the watch on his wrist.

It read 3:33 Pm in time.

"Time to check on my boy!" He said happily as he tapped the interface of the watch and quickly changed the time to 1:23 Pm. After he changed the time the entire hallway he stood in began to turn white, tile by tile, one at a time.

The man clicked his tongue as he checked his watch once more and noticed it had yet to move a second. He smiled once more and waited patiently.

After the hallway became perfectly white it became impossible to understand its dimensions. The man simply sat down, on what looked to be air and raised his hands in front of him as if at a computer.

The wind rustled in the room and caused the man to frown but he continued nonetheless as the wind revealed the perfect angle to see that he was at a pitch white desk.

He typed on what seemed to be a laptop made out of glass and seemed to be typing at a speed inconceivable to man.

After typing out a long list of commands a chat bubble appeared and the man hesitantly clicked it.

---

: 'Why have there been so many admin commands on your end as of late?

The man thought for a moment before responding.

: 'Just clearing up some nuisances who have been abusing some loopholes on your end... O_O'

The young man snickered slightly at his lame excuse and waited for a reply, cracking his knuckles as he did so.

: '...'

: 'Why are you guys chatting? Shouldn't you be fixing the new patch that came out?'

: '...'

: '...'

---

'Damnit... seems like I don't have enough time to check on my darling young hero,' Thought to himself as he snickered once more. He looked at the window that was constantly open to his left and noticed a strange peculiarity... His hero he had chosen was doing something strange... He was air humping and pumping his fist into the air like a maniac.

Sighed before continuing on with his day.

---

Lucas stared at the options the system had given him for wish and was hollering in delight.

---

:

The Moon goddess is known as the goddess of chance among many. When you pray to her she may send favor your way for a period of time.

The Goddess of Fortune is known for giving those under her wings extraordinary gifts. You are one of the many that have earned her watchful gaze.

Using one's own faith can be alarmingly useful. You don't have to rely on others' powers to obtain what you want... though at a permanent cost.

---

'Two Legendary Skills!' Lucas thought as he got up and proceeded to do his famous victory dance...

'And the great thing is... that they might turn into godly skills if I evolve them again!' Lucas thought as he danced harder.

Lee looked at the young man in front of him and let out a sigh as he shook his head in shame.

'But which to choose?' Lucas thought to himself as he realized that the wish counter was most likely not going to refresh even if he gained a new skill.

'Either it resets or it doesn't... shouldn't matter in the long run,'

'So seems to be a large luck boost for a short period of time while Seems to be a small luck boost permanently...' Lucas frowned after actually reading the skills.

'I don't really want passive luck increases... I would much rather prefer a reality-bending ability like ...'

'I suppose Would be my best option though if I had to guess I would say it takes away divinity permanently...'

'I don't really have a use for it so it seems relatively fine for the meantime.'

'I choose you !'

has been added to your skill list. View?>

'Yep!' Lucas said as his grin widened in anticipation.

---

: Tier 0 / LV: 1 / Rarity: Legendary>

Make a miracle happen at the cost of 1 divinity… permanently. Miracles are incredibly strong and it is strongly suggested to use caution when using this skill

---

'Not much to go off of... but still a skill is a skill!' Lucas thought as he saw no cooldown on it.

'Time to do something I have been thinking about doing for quite a while.' Lucas thought while looking at the rising sun in the sky.

'After a little nap of course...'

"Zzzzzzzz"
