Chapter 47: Backpacking Down The Concrete Jungle

The air was fresh. The sun was shining down upon Lucas's face and he could feel the gentle breeze of wind caressing his body as he power walked his way through the downtrodden streets of the city of Ironwrought.

The roads seemed to have progressively gotten worse over the last two months and were a hassle to transverse. The foot-long vines that spiraled across the street made it to where every time you stepped you had a chance of being tripped.

Small cracks had appeared throughout the pavement of the streets and sidewalks as well... The normal pothole had turned into a foot-long drop that would cause you to fall and break your ankle if you didn't watch your step... but for Lucas... this was heaven.

There were no people around him, watching his every movement. Nor was there a need to get to and from work every day. No need to pay rent. No need to struggle to eat. He had a backpack full of supplies and a free calendar. What else could you ask for?
