Rationality Dominates Compassion

Recalling how everything was perfectly unfolded as he planned in the royal court earlier, there was a little smile on Prince Nicien's lips. "I don't help you out to hear those words from you, Marquess Ives," he stated in his usual calm voice. "Esriven needs someone like you." He paused and said, "Please rise first."

The Marquess never looked up even once and there was no movement either. "Please allow me to stay this way, Your Highness. I deserve it for misjudging you all those years. I feel deeply ashamed of myself right now."

What the Marquess just said reminded the Prince of the same thing that the former said in the royal court earlier. When the Marquess bravely declared that he had never done something to be ashamed of during his twenty years as an official, the Prince took a look at himself and he felt deeply ashamed.

How great would it feel to say those words with confidence!
