CHAPTER 4

**EVELINE**

First day of school always sucks.

It's the fact that you are they new girl and everywhere you walk everybody pretty much looks at you. i get my timetable from the secretary and head to the homeroom.

By the time I figure where it is everyone has cleared the halls and I'm pretty much thirty minutes late when I finally locate it. I knock and get in drawing all the attention towards me. I try finding a seat and I lock eyes with my stranger from last week.

There's a seat next to him but I find another seat new the entrance and decide o take it. My heart is racing at this point. I had expected us to be in the same school but not actually have the same classes as him.

The teacher asks me to see him after the class and I thank my lucky stars there's no introduction needed where I get to stand up and introduce myself to everyone.

The girl sitting next to me passes me a paper. She wants to know my name. I smile at her and write down my name and ask her what's hers. Her name is Shirley. She is so cute you look at her you want to hug her. She has wild curly hair that frames her round face. Freckles dots her nose and has blue eyes behind her glasses. I like her already.

After class I talk to the teacher and he gives me notes to catch up with the rest of the class.

As I get out I see Shirley waiting for me at the door "Hey I wanted to properly introduce myself and also i'm your guide since you're new duh"

she is talking so fast it's adorable. I laugh. "thank you Shirley i'm Eveline Leblanc"

we shake hands

"so do you always say your full names or?" she teases me as we head to the next class

"yeah it gives of this confidence aura it always works" I tell her as we laugh.

Lunch break arrives and me and Shirley head to the cafeteria.

" so I'm assuming the cafeteria here is as political as it is in every high school?" I ask her

" oh yeah but we don't actually call it cafeteria its lunch room pretty basic but wait until you see it"

i'm really not going to be surprised since this school gave me the rich kids vibe from the start. I was so thrown off in the morning when my mom dropped me off at the parking lot.

There were so many expensive cars parked you would think you were in a car dealership or something. I guess I spoke to early because the lunch room is way fancy. Like a whole lot of fancy.

Starting from the food I see is getting served to the whole decorum I actually thought for a minute I was in Hogwarts but now without the long tables.

Shirley bless her heart started explaining the whole thing to me

"so of course there's the high table where the royalties sit" she pointed and it was pretty much a high table.

You could see the people seated there and tell me why I wasn't surprised when I saw mr. stranger seated there beside a drop dead gorgeous girl. They looked pretty cozy talking and even laughing. I'm so nervous I have a tummy ache.

Shirley notices who I'm looking "That's Eden. He's pretty much the alpha of the group but again the whole table is full of alphas. The girl he's with is his girlfriend Victoria. They have been together for as long as I can remember. I think they will eventually be mates I don't know for sure."

So he has a name at least I don't have to keep calling him a stranger now.

" The rest of the group haven't gotten here yet but the dude opposite is Doug and the girl is Nicole they are twins. You will see them all since you're in Mooreville high school now."

"What's with the food do you normally eat like this daily?" I'm experiencing a culture whiplash for a better lack of words.

Yes I did go to fancy private school in New York but it's not even close to what's going on here. This is old money business.

" Yeah, how was your former high school like?" she asks me as we take our food trays and go find a table to sit.

"It wasn't like this but it was really nice. I'm from New York."

"Wow you are a real city girl. I was trying to read the vibes you're giving off and now I know" I'm laughing now she is a funny being

"what vibes I'm I giving?"

she looks at me as if I'm from another planet" are you serious? You can't tell me you don't know"

I shrug "I honestly don't"

"okay so you have the cool girl plus it girl vibe going on even from how you have dressed mind you we are dressed in the same school uniform. Nothing seems to throw you of balance. That's all I've got from the last one hour we have been together."

I'm really surprised. I have never been described as nonchalant before so I laugh at that. We sit across the room but with a perfect view of the high table. I'm particularly interested to see the whole dynamic.

I can't stop trying to steal glances at Eden but I don't want to make it so obvious. I'm still not sure if it is just the stranger's crush thing going on or I actually do have a crush on him. I haven't stopped thinking about our encounter from last week.

What's annoying though is I don't know if he has noticed me or he just doesn't care. I even find myself getting irritated at the coziness going on with his girlfriend which is so unlike me. I need to stop.

So I do the next thing to distract me. I listen to Shirley tell me everything she really likes to talk a lot and I'm more than happy to let her. I don't have appetite so I end up just eating an apple and a bottle of water.

I tell Shirley I'm going to check out the library I will catch up with her later in p.e. on my way out I see Eden coming towards me and I start to smile knowing he's coming to say hello.

What I don't expect is for him to pass me as if I'm completely invisible or like he doesn't know me.

Ouch. That stung like a bitch. I'm really confused. Did I give him the wrong impression or he just that much of a jerk?

I go to the library my feelings obviously hurt but decide to distract myself. If I don't think about it, it really doesn't matter. That's my coping mechanism together with books.

There's nothing better than losing yourself into a completely different world than a fantasy world.
