Kidding

(Leon)

Leon's back was killing him. He extended his arms and stretched as he sat upright on the living room couch. When Meghan had called last night to tell him to stay over at his house, he felt a tinge of hope that Sheila might let him share the bed. But owing to how she had wished him good night right after dinner, he figured that it was very unlikely to happen.

Still having to sleep on the couch in your own home did not feel good at all. He had all this pent up frustration and no outlet to let it loose. For starters, he wasn't even sure who he should blame for him ending up in this situation.

After spending his first hour awake being grumpy, he stood up from the couch and went into the kitchen to make some coffee.

As the sweet yet slightly bitter liquid caressed his lips, he felt infinitely better. His sour mood melted away as he spent the next couple of minutes leaning against the balcony railing, taking light sips from his cup.
