The next morning

(Rody)

Rody woke up to the harsh sunlight falling directly onto his face. He opened his eyes but was immediately forced to squint so much that he could barely see anything at all. He turned himself over and blinked several times to get rid of the water forming on the bottom of his eyelids. Rody then sat up on the makeshift bed he had prepared using a few thick blankets he found in one of the aisles of the supermarket.

He scratched his head and yawned heavily as he groggily looked up at the expansive sky above him. Rody couldn't tell what time of the day it was, but it certainly felt early. He couldn't even check on his mobile phone as it had run out of battery at some point during his struggle with the Prowler last night. He extended his arm and began patting around the blankets until his hand found what it was looking for.
