Chapter-34

Virat walked to the back of the group with no apparent purpose, and then followed slowly. Then Sophia took Alex's hand in hers, exclaiming, "Let's go look, let's go take a look."

A hiking and hunting excursion in this remote and desolate arctic region seemed to clear Sophia's mind of all the haze, allowing this young girl to reclaim her vibrant nature. Her long-forgotten smile returned to her face, and she began jumping up and down, despite the fact that she was dressed in heavy winter clothing. She appeared to be a jumping elf.

In the shadows of the glacier mound, several staff members concealed themselves, aimed a tranquilizer gun at the largest polar bear, and pulled the trigger. Despite its best efforts, the mother bear was unable to maintain its balance due to the rapid loss of strength, and she eventually collapsed to the ground and fell into a deep sleep. The three little bears who followed it were also thrown into a state of fear. They threw away the food they had in their mouths and gathered around the body of the deceased mother, crying out in sorrow.

"For the time being, the little bears do not possess offensive capabilities, so refrain from employing the sedative gun. They will not flee while their mother is present." Suddenly, the biological expert exclaimed, "The sedative gun could cause damage to their nervous systems."

There were several nods and a few staff members walked over with the net. Someone was driving over the hoisting equipment in his rear view mirror.

Despite the fact that she was less than ten meters away from the mother bear, Sophia appeared to be in good spirits. She was holding Alex's hand and making her way forward. The three little bears were entangled in the net and were struggling desperately to free themselves. The little bears were comforted softly by Sophia, who walked over and gently touched their heads, saying: "Dear, don't cause any trouble; we are saving you."

Sophia radiated a kind of maternal radiance, which caused Alex's heart to thump a little. Alex shook his head and looked at Sophia with a puzzled expression. At this point, Alex noticed that Sophia was extremely attractive, perhaps even more attractive than before.

However, the female bear who had fallen to the ground was completely unaware of what had happened until she opened her eyes. When the mother bear discovered that Sophia was stroking the baby bear, she erupted in a roar and dashed towards Sophia, who was stunned.

The female bear was no more than ten meters away from Sophia and Alex when they were attacked. Furthermore, the running speed of a polar bear under full blast is faster than the speed of the world champion in the human sprint race.

All of this happened in the blink of an eye, so quickly that people were unable to react in any way at all. An anaesthetic gun had been called out by the biological expert, and when another member of staff had rushed over to grab the anaesthetic gun and had not had time to aim, Alex hugged Sophia and used himself as an anaesthetic. "I'm sorry," Alex said. In order to avoid being attacked by the female bear, he turned his back to her and held Sophia in his arms.

It all happened far too quickly and unexpectedly. Alex only had enough time to protect Sophia, and Sophia only had enough time to let out a yell of surprise. Before the exclamation could be finished, a crisp gunshot rang through the room, shocking everyone. Alex wrapped his arms around Sophia, waiting for the inevitable death and agony to strike, but he never got there. Alex let go of Sophia and turned around to see a female bear lying on the ground with a blood hole in its head that was bleeding continuously. Alex ran over to the bear and picked her up. Virat remained steadfastly in the background, his expression remaining unaffected by anything else.

Obviously, at this critical moment, Virat pulled his gun, shot the female bear in the head with a single shot, and then put the gun away. Vlakovich's gun was drawn and fired, but no one saw him put it away after he finished with it.

After discovering their mother's death, everyone fell silent, with the exception of the three polar bear cubs, who gave a more mournful cry.

The biological expert began to tremble as a result of this. Then, tremblingly, he pointed at Virat and said, "You killed a polar bear, didn't you? Why don't you use a tranquilizer gun to calm yourself down..."

"The lives of these two people are more important than the lives of a polar bear," Virat said, casting a light glance his way.

Then Virat walked past the biological expert and stood before the body of a female bear, where he said indifferently: "I'm sorry, but the hope of mankind and the planet cannot be destroyed in your hands."

When Virat finished speaking, he snapped his fingers and said, "Let's go, three little bears are enough."

Virat has quietly risen to the position of leader of this group of people. As soon as Virat issued an order, a group of people piled into their own vehicles and began driving back to their respective homes.

"Thank you very much, Alex." When Sophia was in the carriage, her expression changed and she finally thanked Alex in hushed tones after some time had passed. His gaze was distant, as if he had heard something, but he didn't appear to have heard anything.

The mother, who attacked the intruder in order to protect her cub, was killed, according to the narrator. "But this is the end of the world, and the end of the world is so cruel," Alex lamented, his voice breaking.
