Chapter 28 : Progress in Academics

Rhett's POV

"What's the news?" I asked Logan and Mason as Hayden and I walked into the office.

The two of them seemed as though they were in the middle of a heated discussion before they dropped it and paid attention to my brother and I as we sat at the large oak table to the side of the office room.

"Nothing," Logan grumbled, very obviously upset at the limited report he is able to give us.

"Nothing?" Hayden asked and Mason nodded as he threw his hands up in the air.

"Nothing! Not even a gust of wind to go off of. It's like all of a sudden the kidnappings and the few witnesses we had had before just stopped. It's so confusing."

"Could it be happening in an area we aren't monitoring right now?" I posed the question to the group and Logan shook his head at me.

"I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's not likely. We have every square inch of the town covered in surveillance and eye witnesses. There's nothing that happens or will happen that we won't hear of first."
