Chapter 65: Cooling Down

Rhett’s POV

“Do you two mind telling me—”

“Actually,” Hayden spoke up, not even letting Claudius finish words. “I’d rather not have to explain anything to you.”

Normally I would have chastised my brother for his snarky attitude towards one of the elders, especially Claudius. Still, after what just happened, I wasn’t in a particularly chatty mood either. From going to having my mate in my lap, and my teeth so close to her neck to fighting with my brother in our wolf form—yeah, I wasn’t in the best of moods.

“Lose that tone with me, boy.” Claudius’ voice rang out, and a growl began emitting itself from Hayden’s chest at the challenge. “The entirety of the pack, your warriors and elders, saw the way you two handled yourself today, clawing and biting at each other’s throats like a pair of pups!”
