A knock on my door sometime later during that day alerted me that there was someone outside my door. I couldn’t call out and tell them it was open, so instead I walked over to it and opened the door. 


I was surprised to see the wide open grin of my friend Amanda staring straight back up at me.


She enveloped me in a hug as soon as the door was open, and I let out a soft huff as she knocked the air out of me. I felt her squeeze me tightly for a moment before she let go of me and stepped back. Her bright smile still on her face as she asked me how I was.


“I have been worried about you since that day in the gardens,” she began to tell me. “I’m sorry we haven’t seen each other since then but Logan said it was better that I stayed away from the compound for a few days.”
