Chapter 126: The Cage

Eleonore’s POV

I found myself getting ready to leave for the mage’s compound the next morning. I hadn’t told anyone of my plans, knowing that they might not have agreed with what I wanted to do, but my text conversation yesterday with Ronan set my decisions resolute.

There was something wrong with Bastian that neither he nor the other mages could figure out, and I wasn’t going to allow Ronan go through all of this alone.

He had been there for me when I lost my entire family, and I wasn’t going to make him go through that all alone. So I packed a small bag with some of the things I thought I might need and called a car to pick me up from the wolves’ compound.

Rhett and Hayden had assured me on more than one occasion that I could use any of the available cars in the garage, but I didn’t want to do that right now.

So instead I called a cab and gave the man the directions to the compound through my phone.
