Chapter 128: Who Do You Choose?

Eleonore’s POV

“How long exactly does it take to find a single necklace?” Bastian seethed at me as he walked through my apartment himself, lifting up pillows and pushing couches out of the way with a single hand in search of his necklace.

I bit my lip as I pretended to search as well, lifting covers rapidly and pulling things out of my drawers to pretend that I didn’t know where it was. My eyes flitted to the jewelry box on top of my dresser where the item was located, and I hated myself for a moment for being organized for once.

Of course, the one time I actually put something in its place it would turn out to be the most inconvenient thing of all time. I watched as Bastian yanked open my bedside drawers, and with his back to me I moved towards the dresser and tried to sneakily open the box and grab the jewelry piece before he could notice.

But the sound of the music coming from the box as I opened it had my blood stilling. Sh*t! I forgot about that one irritating feature.
