Chapter 234: Kaveh

Eleonore’s POV

I woke up before the twins the following morning. I didn’t know when Rhett had finally come back to the room, but Hayden and I had fallen asleep long before he came back. I hadn’t spoken to either of them, not about what had happened at the council meeting or about what had been the initial catalyst that made them as… distant as they were being.

So, instead, I got up early that morning and made my way to the bathroom, freshening up before I walked out of the bedroom with the new clothes Michael had given us. I needed to clear my head and I had to be away from them to do that.

I understood their frustrations, so I couldn’t blame them for everything they were probably going through, and yet at the same time I was frustrated as well. Coming to the citadel hadn’t been at all what I was expecting it to be, and despite having been here for a few hours we had barely learned anything useful about me or the demon situation.
