Michael came to find me with Kaveh some hours later. I had hesitantly pulled myself out of the bed with Rhett and Hayden and got dressed as quickly as I could, finding the demon hunter and the librarian standing at the door waiting patiently for me. 


I didn’t need any elaboration on Michael’s words to know who exactly was summoning us. I also didn’t need to look at Kaveh’s face to know that the man was nervous about the potential meeting. Why were they calling him, too? Were they even calling him? Or was he here just to gloat some more and provide that unnecessary feedback he always seemed to have?


‘Did they find out about–?’ I didn’t have to finish asking the question before Michael shook his head.


“I don’t know,” he said as he looked at Kaveh. “But whatever it is, they want all three of us there. Are you ready to leave now?”


‘The twins can’t come?’ I asked, and Michael shook his head.
