Gabriel was still sitting at the table. He hadn't moved since Shawn and Raven left. He knew they were trying to help him but he also knew it wouldn't make a difference. " I don't need her.." Gabriel tried to reassure himself even though it wasn't super convincing. " I dont.."
Gabriel hears a loud explosion coming from outside and jumps to his feet and heads outside where he finds Lysette who is staring up at the sky.
" What the hell was that? " Gabriel asked, thinking the worst, fearing an attack. " The sky...the sound came from the sky.." Lysette explains.
" I think...we screwed up " Lysette adds as Gabriel stares up at the sky with her. Trying to see what she was seeing.
" What are you talking about? " Gabriel looks to the sky.
Lysette turns to Gabriel, a worried look struck across her face. " You need to go to Kara. NOW! " her tone was serious. Gabriel wasn't sure as to why she was so insistent but he nodded and proceeded to run to the Walls leading outside the Kingdom and shifts.
Meanwhile, Shawn and Raven arrived home. They were living in the cave behind the Waterfall. They had been looking for new places to live but had not found anything. They knew they would need proper space when the baby arrives and living in the cave wasn't going to cut it anymore.
" They are so hard headed. And the worst part? They are exactly the fucking same " Raven had been complaining the entire way home which Shawn, just allowed to happen. He knew she needed to get this out even if he felt she was being a little too invasive.
" Why would you push Kara so hard? It wasn't your place to give out that information about Gabriel either.." Shawn usually didn't mind too much because she was just typically concerned. But she was getting far more pushy and it was making him slightly uncomfortable.
" I push because if I don't, they are never going to fucking learn" Raven explains sounding so sure of herself. " You know how they are, they won't do anything with one another unless pushed. And everyone can see that they still love each other " Raven points out as Shawn places their travel bag down. This had a variety of herbs and medicine to help calm Raven during her pregnancy. He always kept it with him just in case she felt any discomfort.
" That is for them to decide. Only they can choose what happens between them. Trying to force it will only force them to drift further apart" Shawn Sighs.
" That is bullshit. Their stubbornness is bullshit" She responds as she begins to think back to how her and Shawn first met. She had been out in the woodlands, gathering herbs. She had done this everyday that her time would allow. That was until she was confronted by a horde of vampires who had seen her and followed her for some time. They saw her as a feast. At the time, blood hunting was frowned upon and so they were dangerous. They would do everything in their power to keep their addiction hidden. She had ran from them, at the time, not being well versed in magic at the time. That was at least, when it came to defensive magic.
The Vampires were of course relentless, starving for a way to quench their tastes and they chosen her. She ran, as fast as she could through the woodlands where she ended up hiding behind a tree. She was tired and had to catch her breath. But the Vampires were still on her trail. In that moment, she was scared that she might die. But as she leaned against the tree, she noticed a strange silence. They sounds of the footsteps from the Vampires were no longer behind her. And after some self convincing, she peeked from behind the tree and there stood the man she would later come to know as Shawn. He had killed off most of the Vampires whilst the remaining had flee'd.
" It wasn't that hard for us. You saved me and I was thankful. Sure, I didn't know why or how you got there but you were my hero and I had to repay you" Raven smiles at the thought.
" You took me home and offered me dinner..and we talked for hours. We became so close after that " Shawn smiles back as he places his scythe down, leaning it against the wall.
" But things were different for us. We didn't have the complicated stuff that they have going on. It's not fair to compare us to them" Shawn points out as Raven shakes her head in disagreement.
" If anything, it is more of a reason for them to have bonded. To have come together. They should have- " Raven is interrupted by a loud explosion coming from outside. They both step outside and make their way around the Waterfall to see the sky was darkening.
" This can't be good..." Shawn thinks to himself as Raven takes his hand. " What is that.." Raven notices lights forming In sky now, that seemed to be approaching closer and closer to the ground. " Wha..- " The lights, being giant balls of energy begin crashing into the Underworld. Causing massive explosions around the entire landscape. " We have to get to them before it's too late " Shawn responds. He wasn't sure what was going on but he knew that it could not be good.
Gabriel runs hard and fast, heading to Kara's Kingdom. He had not traveled down these roads in a very long time. He wasn't sure why Lysette wanted him to go to her but he assumed that Kara might be in danger. And if she was, he would of course do whatever it took to protect her.
His pursuit was only intervened by a large ball of energy crashing in front of him propelling him hundreds of feet back, making him land on his side. He was hurt but conscious. He could keep going. He wasn't sure what the energy was but he had to keep pushing and she he ran again. Dodging as many energy balls as he could but finds himself getting blown back time and time again until he was finally tossed against a rock. He hit with extreme force and was hurt. But still, he tried to get to his feet. He couldn't let anything happen to Kara. " Fuck the promise " He said to himself as he stood back up only to realize that a energy ball was about to crash into him from directly above. He tried to get out of the way but was hit yet again and thrown in the opposite direction.
Meanwhile, Kara layed on the ground in pain. She couldn't move. The pain in her hand made it feel as though it weighed a million times heavier than its normal weight. This was bad. She knew she had to get up but it was so hard to do so. And as she layed there, hurting, helpless, her thoughts went to Gabriel for the first time in a long time. Where was he? Was he safe? Was he okay? Her mind races with these questions. " Gabriel...I need you.." Kara cried out as Shawn and Raven appeared in the Courtyard " KARA! " Raven screamed as Shawn began running to Kara was blown back by a strange and powerful energy. Kara's Body began raising off of the ground, floating in the air. She stares down at her friends who were helpless to save her. " Stay back.." Kara becomes engulfed in flames, which was not the typical light green flames that were reoresantive of her energy. These flames, were instead a bright red color, and seemed to consume her completely both inside and out before she vanishes into thin air.
