Chapter 32: To Trust or Not To Trust

"Where the h*** are you going?" Paris yelled after me angrily.

My heart was racing inside my chest, my emotions raging and ready to explode. I sped up, jogging out the door and sprinting away. I had no idea where I was going. I just needed to get away.

My senses heightened as my eyes shifted red and I ignored the eyes on me as I darted through the village heading to the forest.

As soon as I found a spot far enough away from everyone, I slid back against a nearby tree falling to the ground. I hugged my knees against my chest as I shook with anger.

Father didn't care about me. He never did. I was just a weapon to him from the beginning. A pawn. That's all I was. To the vampires and the werewolves.

I closed my eyes, my mind traveling back to that wretched day.

“Your father is not a patient man. You have to do it,” Ezra said, giving me a stern look.

“No, I can’t. I won’t,” I protested, my eyes watering up at the thought.

“You have to. If you don’t…” he said, trailing off.
