Chapter 28: The New Normal

Kinley

Kinley made a full recovery from her illness. She felt better than she had in a while, thanks to Seth's caregiving. He had been amazing to her, taking care of her and feeding her. But she was getting tired of sitting in the house. Cabin fever had set in. She wanted to check on the bookstore, but she knew she would have to convince Seth to let her. He had been extra protective of her lately, with good reason, but she was done hiding. She still wanted a life outside of these apartment walls.

She sat cross-legged on the couch, with Seth inches away. She nudged him with her foot to get his attention.

"So, I was thinking I might go to the bookstore today, alone."

"Kinley, you know that isn’t' safe," he said.

"I honestly don't care. I'm going crazy, Seth."

"I do care, though. I know you are going crazy, but is it really worth it?"

"Sure is."

She smiled mischievously.
