The next day, Hikaru was gone until well after the sun went down. I was nervous to be in the apartment by myself, but I kept the bolt locked and tried to keep busy with some deep cleaning. I made another round of phone calls, hoping any of the local facilities would have information on Juno being admitted, but I again had no luck. I went into Juno’s room for the first time since she’d been gone and noticed her purse was still on her dresser along with her cell phone.


We knew each other’s passcodes, so it was easy to unlock her phone to check the activity. The night she left, she did call the police but was only on the phone for just over three minutes. There were no outgoing calls after that. There were no searches for mental facilities or calls to her parents. Would the cops have sent someone to collect her or was that all Sebastian?
