Chapter 38: Catching Up

After convincing her to sit down, I shut off the television and took a seat next to her. I know I’d told Hikaru I wouldn’t tell her anything, but I couldn’t just sit back and let my best friend continue to be psychologically abused by this asshole.

I reached over and held her hand. “Juno, you trust me right? I’ve always been completely honest with you, no matter what happens?”

She nodded, looking concerned. “Of course, Gabs. What’s the matter?”

I took a deep breath before continuing, “I need to know that you’re not going to freak out on me when I tell you this. I love you so much, and I feel really bad, but I’ve been keeping something from you and I need to come clean because I feel like I’m going to explode.”

Juno reached over and put a hand on my shoulder, “Babe, calm down. I’m totally fine now, I’m not going to freak out. You can tell me anything.”
