End of the Exchange

"Yes, maybe. Let's go. Let's go early today," Anita said with a nod.

Seeing that Anita clearly didn't want to say anything, Ethan didn't press her. The two of them walked quietly to the meeting room.

Anita's mind was elsewhere as she listened to the speech on the stage. She looked at her phone a few times.

As early as last night, when she couldn't sleep, she had seen the few video calls from Owen, but she hadn't replied to any of them, because she didn't know what to say.

"Anita, what are you thinking? The professor is giving his closing speech on the stage," Ethan said while gently touching Anita's arm.

Hearing Ethan's words, Anita quickly came back to her senses and looked up at the podium.

"Thank you, experts, for coming to this exchange. I hope we can work together to do this project well in the future." The old professor presiding over this meeting looked at the people below the stage and bowed before walking down the stage.
