Going Home

Anita and Sylvia had long since finished their meal. The two of them had looked through Owen's childhood photos and the family photos, but he wasn't back yet. They were about to fall asleep when they heard the sound of a car outside.

"Anita, Mom, why aren't you guys asleep yet?" Owen hurried back after dealing with the matter. As soon as he entered the door, he saw that the lights were still on and the two of them were still sitting on the sofa waiting for him.

"We were waiting for you. Anita was so worried when you didn't come back. I had no choice but to wait for you with her," Sylvia said first while glancing at the two of them.

"Mom, I'm not worried about him. I just… I just ate too much tonight and couldn't sleep," Anita said shyly as she listened to Sylvia.

"Yes, I know. Since Owen is back, I won't be a third wheel for the two of you. I have to hurry to bed. I can't take it anymore," Sylvia said as she swayed and walked upstairs.
