Chapter 10: Red Eyes

Noctis was making his way through the mist on the tenth floor. For the most part the fights were still easy for him on this floor. Mainly because the orcs were so big that he could see their heads poking above the mist and their bodies when moving would cause the mist to move at well.

When Noctis came across his first Orc he surprised attacked it and used a piercing move with his gauntlets but it couldn't go all the way through to the monsters crystal. Then before Noctis could pull out his hand from the monster he got punched by the Orc sending him a couple feet back.

Noctis grit his teeth and smiled as he jumped up in the air and punched the Orc in the head causing him to fall over. Then while still in the air Noctis flipped forward and made a boot with his blood magic that had long sharp spikes at the bottom as he slammed with all his weight and momentum down onto the Orcs chest hoping the crystal was there.

Noctis was able to hit the crystal and that caused the Orc to turn to dust. Noctis smiled "Okay so Orcs are on the thicker side. I'm going to need a sword soon. Sure I can punch a lot of monsters but a great sword would make it easier. The only problem is the design for my great swords would be intricate if I want anything like I had in my last life."

Noctis stored the Orcs crystal and sighed "Well I can worry about that later. I'm just going to floor 12 anyways. Can't get much tougher then this."

Noctis paused for a moment and shrugged "It would be more fun if I set up death flags anyways."

Noctis then proceeded to go through the rest of the floor taking his time killing Orcs luckily the biggest group of Orcs only had three at most.

Noctis then finally made it to floor 11. When he first stepped on the floor the mist seemed thicker and he had a harder time seeing. He then stopped as he heard something. It was a very strange sound though it was as if something was repeatedly hitting the floor like it was rolling.

Noctis noticed the sound was getting closer and closer and it was coming from his left. At the last second Noctis could finally see what it was a Hard Armored. Noctis quickly side stepped and punched it in the side. The monster got sent flying but Noctis could see cracks on his Gauntlet. As well as his arm was now numb up to his shoulder. Noctis quickly ran towards it as it was on it s back with its belly exposed. When Noctis got a good look at it he could see the belly was the least armored so he got ready to pierce it with his gauntlet. The monster screamed and turned into dust.

Noctis feeling mentally tired decided to drink a mana potion one of his five.

Noctis then had a easier time though floor eleven as he ran mostly into Orcs and Silverbacks. Silverbacks are rather large. While the Silverbacks were strong Noctis found them rather slow and easy to deal with.

Noctis was walking down to the 12th floor at this point finally reaching his goal he wanted to clear this floor and head back.

Noctis heard fighting up ahead as he reached the bottom of the stairs. There was still mist however it was greatly reduced and Noctis assumed it was because of the battle before him.

Noctis saw a group of four adventurers who were clearly out matched. In front of the group of four was a Infant Dragon an a Black Wyvern.

The four adventurers were grouped up one was a Dwarf with a shield and hammer, there were two big humans with greatswords, and then finally one mage who was using most of his magic healing the dwarf who was taking the attacks.

Both the Infant Dragon and the Black Wyvern were considered both the lowest level 2. The Infant Dragon had no wings it was a salamander pretty much with hard brown scales. The Black Wyvern was a mutated version of a regular Wyvern that has scorched black scales and beaming red eyes. Noctis watched as they fought.

Being someone who has seen and been in countless battles he already knew the group of four were going to die. He did not jump in to save them however because you should not approach someone else's fight it would break an unbroken rule to steal the monsters from them. Noctis would only help out if they were truly on deaths doorstep or if they ran past him.

Noctis watched the battle as the Dwarf brought up his shield again to block the fireball coming from the Infant Dragons mouth. What the Dwarf did not know was too his side the Black Wyvern was also using a fireball attack. Before the other adventurers could react the dwarf got hit from the front and the side. The dwarf dropped its shield as he was heavily burnt on the right side.

The two other adventurers with great swords charged at the Wyvern and Dragon separately in a last ditch effort. The mage decided to focus on healing the Dwarfs serious burns.

Noctis sighed at their lack of planning. Noctis figured their best chance was for the Dwarf to take all the aggression of the Black Wyvern and then the trio of two greatswords and the mage go for the weaker Infant Dragon.

Noctis then watched as the mage just collapsed probably running out of magic and went into mind down. The Dwarf was barely healed still on the floor with burns over their whole body. Then Noctis watched as the two other greatsword users were getting destroyed by the Wyvern and Dragon.

Noctis started to head over he made his way towards the mage and tossed him a bit a way from the fight. Noctis then looked at the two greatsword users getting eaten by the Wyvern and Dragon.

Noctis then turned his head as he heard the Dwarf coughing. Noctis walked over and stood over the Dwarf who was charred.

The Dwarf coughed out "Help me."

Noctis showed no sympathy "What a waste."

Noctis then used the fingers of his gauntlet to make a sharp point as he horizontally slashed across the dwarfs neck. Completely decapitating him and turned to the two great sword users who were now dead. Since they were dead Noctis freely used their blood and launched sharp jagged bolts of blood at both the Black Wyvern and the Infant Dragon.

Both the monsters roared as their faces were covered covered in jagged bolts of solid blood. Noctis noticing that he managed to blind the Infant Dragon in one eye decided to charge at the Dragon first since it appeared weaker. Noctis punched the Dragon in the face sending it back a couple feet as it rolled over. Then Noctis while feeling some resistance noticed his Gauntlets were at least not cracked like earlier.

Noctis being more confident started to charge at the Infant Dragon again. The Black Wyvern was busy trying to clear up its face as it was still covered in the blood bolts. While Noctis was charging the Dragon was able to recover fast from the attack and launched a fire ball at Noctis. Noctis not having enough time to dodge. Noctis made and x with his gauntlets covering his face as the rest of his body took the burn.

Much of Noctis's skin was charred or burnt as you could smell the burning flesh. However the wounds were healing as fast as they were appearing due to his extreme regeneration. The one draw back of this is he could feel himself getting more tired. As the regeneration was at the cost of his endurance.

Noctis then kept running towards the Dragon as he jumped up in the air an used his blood magic to make a spiked boot as he flipped an axe kicked the Dragons head causing it to slam into the ground.

Noctis then had to quickly back step as the Black Wyvern fired a fireball towards Noctis. This caused the fireball to hit the Dragon instead. Noctis then grabbed a great sword off of one of the killed adventurers and quickly jumped onto the Infant Dragons back while it was still staggered from the previous hit and fireball.

Noctis started to wildly chop at the Infant Dragons neck. With an insane grin on his face. Blood started to splatter over his face from the Dragon as he kept getting deeper and deeper.

The great sword started to dull and chip but Noctis used his brute strength to finish the job and cut the Infant Dragons head off. As it slowly started to turn to dust. It dropped a couple dragon fangs as well as it's huge crystal.

Noctis then looked at the Black Wyvern as it roared at Noctis ready for a fight. Noctis had a huge grin as he licked some blood off his face.
