Chapter 29: Expedition 2

Noctis, Ais, Bete, Finn, Tiona, and Tione we're making their way through the dungeon. They were leading the expedition an already made it to the 16th floor. Its almost been a whole day but that was to be expected since they could not stray too far from the whole group.

Noctis was chilling in the middle of the group with his hands behind his head. Finn then said as he was fighting some Minotaurs "Noctis you could jump in and help. I mean we don't need it but it would make it quicker."

Noctis waved him off "I'm supposed to be protected since I have most of the supplies right? I can not risk the expedition. Besides we should let a couple of the monsters run past us."

Bete smirked "I agree with Noctis some people in our Familia need to get stronger so we should just let them run by us."

Finn shook his head "The rest of our Familia can train after we set up camp on the 18th floor for a couple of days. Noctis help out now."

Noctis sighed "Fine."

Noctis made sharp spears of blood appear everywhere and they launched like a homing middle to every monster in sight. Each one started to turn to dust and a huge wave of monsters was cleared. Apparently in the dungeon lately the bigger the party the more monsters have been spawning.

Noctis scratched his neck and said quietly "How can the dungeon tell how big a group is?"

Finn nodded "Thanks Noctis I don't know why there are so many monsters. They are weak compared to us but the amount was bigger than normal."

After that, the forward group made it to the 18th floor. The monster Rex was down. The Freya familia had already taken care of it.

Noctis sat down in the forest outside of the town that was on the 18th floor. They had to wait for the rest of the group to come. Noctis started to set down and take out some of the camping gear he was holding for everyone in his inventory.

While he was doing this Tiona went up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

When Noctis turned around Tiona asked, "Are you ready to fight Noctis?"

Noctis smirked "You want to make sure no one is here while you lose?"

Tiona laughed "I just don't want to ruin your reputation Nocty."

Noctis looked around and saw everyone was around "Finn stop me in case I go too far."

Finn sighed "Okay follow me. There is a big clearing further in the forest."

Bete, Tiona, Tione, Ais, and Noctis followed Finn to the area.

Noctis and Tiona faced each other while everyone else stood on the side.

Noctis was stretching and got his new greatsword out and put on his new armor made by Tsubaki. It was made from the Black Wyvern scales from when Noctis defeated it. It was black scale armor but there were many gaps in his armor Noctis wanted it like this to give him as much movement and flexibility as possible.

His great sword was nothing like Tiona's Urga. Noctis's was a long curved sword and very jagged. (It's the Blood Hounds Fang from Elden Ring. Since that's what I'm using right now in my playthrough.)

Noctis smirked "You should probably use Berserk right away or else you probably won't get a hit."

Tiona was shocked "How do you know about Beserk?"

Noctis shrugged "I have an ability that lets me see other people's it's called soul search. I can tell a lot by it. I know everyone's here."

Tiona smiled "Let's just fight already."

Tiona started to charge at Noctis who just started to walk over. Tiona jumped in the air and on her way down did a flip and overhead strike with Urga.

As she was swinging down Noctis jumped up to the side as well. When she crashed down with her sword a crater formed. Noctis then still in the air jumped again off her back away from the crater.

Tiona turned around and started to swing violently at him. Noctis however had not even used his sword yet and just kept dodging. He was doing this by using his Kings Aura in incriminates. His aura right now was not enough to fully stop her but using it sporadically as he did caused slight pauses and jerks in her swings giving him time to simply dodge.

Tiona started to go faster and this caused Noctis to start reflecting her blows. Noctis was smiling the whole time as it seemed that Tiona was getting more and more frustrated.

One the sidelines

Bete whistled "Damn maybe he is just as strong as us."

Tione was annoyed "He is just dodging everything. I'm sure if one of my sister's swings hit him it would break him."

Finn looked curious "That's true but it looks like she might never hit him."

Tione paused "Why is that captain?"

Finn gave a wry smile "He has not even used his magic yet."

Ais was silent simply watching she thought 'Could I beat him?'

Back to the fight

Tiona kept warming up more and more she activated her ability to Intense heat. This raises all of Tiona's abilities by a large amount. Noctis's eyes widened a bit but then they relaxed again. Tiona was going for a big swing on his left. So he put his Blood Hound Fang down vertical and used his other hand to hold towards the top of the blade blocking the strike.

The impact caused Noctis to drag across the floor for about twenty. He already knew Tiona was about to be right on top of him because of the boost she just received. Figuring she would go for another overhead strike he swung his blade over his head in a circular and then swung it out to where she would be when he looked back up he saw his blade heading right for her abdomen.

Tione almost jumped out but both Finn and Bete stopped her. Tione yelled, "What are you doing that's a kill shot."

Finn quickly said, "Look."

Right, when Tione looked back up she saw Noctis switch the sides of the blade mid-swing allowing for the blunt side to hit Tiona. This sent Tiona flying into a group of trees causing them to all come crashing down.

Noctis looked over to Tione relaxing. Noctis looked upset "Don't interfere. She needs to learn a lesson out of this."

Tiona got up quickly. Noctis frowned "You are not very good at fighting people. If I wanted to I could have cut you in half right there."

Tiona didn't respond and picked up the biggest Boulder she could she tossed it up a bit and then hit it with Urga. This caused it to smash into many pieces and rain down on Noctis. He simply dodged and said "So childish."

In the next moment, Noctis stopped and made a great blood shield from his hand covering his right side. This blocked a strike from Tione. While she was still striking down trying to break through Noctis rotated his body around her and made the shield disappear. While she started to swing through with the shield gone Noctis Spartan kicked her side and sent her flying back to where she originally made a crater.

He then made a bunch of blunt objects of blood over the crater. He then sent about twenty clubs and hammers hoping it does not kill her. This created a loud impact as well as a ton of dust to come up.

As the dust cleared Tiona was slow to get up. Noctis looked down at her from the now much larger crater. "You should just stop now before you get seriously hurt."

Tiona did not listen and activated her berserk skill. After all the damage she has taken her attack power skyrocketed. She swung her sword as hard as she could at Noctis. Noctis blocked the strike the same way as before with his sword. He also added a red coating to it. This was a blood coating made from his magic. He wanted more protection just in case.

While he blocked all the damage he was sent flying from the impact. He started heading for a giant Boulder but did a flip so his feet would land on it. When he connected and then shot back out the Boulder completely broke. Noctis started to run at her as fast as she could. Tiona winded up for another big swing. Noctis leaned back as far as he could to dodge the horizontal swing and get closer to Tiona. He swung his body around with his sword and flipped the blade again to not cut decapitate her. Then swung down with the blunt side and hit the back of her neck making her fall down unconscious.

Tione ran over to make sure she was fine. As did the rest. When Tione looked at her sister she saw her breathing with a smile on her face but completely knocked out.

Finn walked up to Noctis "Thanks for not going too overboard."

Noctis shrugged with a smile "We are Familia after all."

He looked down at Tiona and then back to Finn "You would be much harder to beat. But you guys don't fight other people too often huh?"

Finn shook his head "No why would we?"

Noctis was silent and did not say more. Bete then said, "We'll let's head back to camp the rest should be here by now."

Noctis nodded and put his armor and sword back in his storage to have his casual clothes on. "Let's go."

Tiona picked up her sister and they all started to head back.
