The group were seen standing in the middle of a forest with trees of all kinds. They had made it past the game lord's attack. But what they were about to experience now was something different on its own. It hadn't been more than an hour since they got out of the warp skill Rodney had used when Yang started acting weird and soon enough, they all knew why he acted the way he did.
"From the map, they look pretty far off. But..this.. this energy. I have felt this level of energy before". Rodney thought to himself as he and the group felt like sitting ducks at the moment. They had expended all their energy in the fight against Damien and the three generals in a bid to survive and weren't so keen on getting into another fight. Especially one of this high magnitude, it was simply suicidal.
" These purple marks, aren't they supposed to mean intermediate feral beasts? " Blair asked the group.
"Yeah, but that shouldn't be your worry. What you should worry about is what kind and at what level they are at and how we are supposed to fight off this many" Blaze said in response to Blair. And this answer she gave was what was on all their minds. There was just simply too many coming their direction. And the sad thing about it all was that they weren't just coming from a particular direction,no, they were every where.
The purple mark which was supposed to tell players that there was a beast at the intermediate feral level around the corner had basically formed a cloud in their maps with no where for them to turn or run to. They were stuck in the middle and the options provided by the system wasn't any good either.
"Hey, you don't think you can open one of those your enchantments now could you?" Rodney said within himself. The one he was referring to was none other than Gypson. And for some reason, there was a silence from him this time. This didn't particularly go unnoticed by Rodney as he knew the exact cause of it all.
"Really, you are going to give me this now?" Rodney said once again in his mind and yet again, there was no response.
"You know you are acting like I would right now for a demon. For all I know, you could be a hundred years old" Rodney said to Gypson.
"Bwa haha haha. Kid, this just proves how limited your knowledge about demons are. A hundred years old, really?. You do know I have been existing way before that right?" Gypson said and once again bursted into a chaotic laughter. And on the outside, the facial expression that Rodney wore now was quite misleading to his comrades.
"This must be alot on him" Erwin thought as he stared at Rodney's now twitching eyebrow. They all felt the same way as they looked at Rodney. Thinking he must have been having a hard time going through all of these and the significant weight of it all was on no one else but him.
But in actuality, they were a little off the trail there. Sure Rodney was worried about the entire situation they were in, but then again, that wasn't the cause of the look he wore right now on his face. He was simply frustrated and mad at Gypson and somehow that anger that he tried so much to keep within him was leaking out by the minute. And it wasn't until Erwin approached him from where Rodney stood that he could feel the slight Aura leaking out of Rodney.
"He can do this now?"...." Just what has got him to be this mad?" Erwin thought as he approached Rodney. He was quite confused as to why such situation would lead to this kind of response from their leader. It was simply uncalled for at this moment. But that didn't matter to Erwin at this point as all he wanted to do now was sort things out.
"Hey big guy. Listen, you don't have to do this on your own. Remember we are a team right and we'll figure this out together, right?" Erwin said as he had his hand placed on Rodney's shoulders from behind Rodney.
"What do you think we should do?" Rodney turned and asked Erwin. And his tone as he asked this question conveyed one of shame. He was simply ashamed he was stuck at such an uncomfortable spot and there didn't seem to be a way out of it.
"Well, I might have something. But we will need her for it" Erwin said and looked at the direction of Mia who was still being held by Johan. The latter had since been carrying her with no signs of tiredness which was something to give him remarks for as just on his shoulders, there was blood stains from the sword attack by the general. But what was seemingly odd was that even with the size of the open wound, there was no blood coming out of it again. But he wasn't the only one that was experiencing this.
The others two had stopped bleeding and although their wounds lingered, they couldn't complain much about the pain. But they hadn't noticed this as it was quite subtle. But what they did notice was that other than Mia's broken hand, they couldn't find that much on her to warrant her being out. So seeing her still in the same condition as before, Erwin's thoughts was swiftly pushed aside momentarily. Only Rodney had a pretty good idea why she was still out.
"Maybe, we don't have to fight them" Johan said.
The others found this suggestion to be not only weird but stupid as well. They had all seen the way the map had been covered up by the purple mark. If they didn't fight, what then could they possibly do to get out of this situation they were in. This was the thought running through those that heard Johan's suggestion.
"Hear me out guys" Johan said as he noticed the expression on their faces.
"The system says we can either join one side or kill both sides right?" Johan said.
"Yeah, but we don't know the kind of beast we will be dealing with and what is this turf war anyway?" Blair said.
"Going by what we are seeing on the Map, I think its two beast clans clashing" Eiko said.
"Yeah, but with this much beast heading into one direction, they've got to have some sort of social intelligence and interaction" Rodney stated.
"A beast with this much coordination, this might prove tougher than we all think" Eiko said.
"Staying around wouldn't solve anything, we need a plan. Johan go on with it" Erwin pointed out.
"Now we don't necessarily have to be directly involved in this fight. But we can still get the rewards from the quest" Johan said.
"Would be nice if you hurry up with the plan. The beasts aren't exactly waiting for us to formulate one" Blair said with his arms folded against his chest as he stared at the map to see that they were closing in.
*sigh*
Johan shook his head as in his mind, he thought the others might have caught on to the plan already from the little he had said. "Looks like I have to spill the whole bean" he thought within himself as he then began..." We set a trap" ..
*clap*
Immediately they all face palmed themselves. They felt frustrated that the whole time, this was the idea he had come up with. Not like it was a bad idea in anyway, but given some factors would impede such idea, they felt Johan should have thought this through before going on to give them all high hopes.
"Listen, I have it all figured out. The only thing is I have used up all my energy" Johan said and again they looked at him with a frown as that was exactly the point of the whole reaction from them earlier. They were simply spent and couldn't imagine setting up a trap right before both beast clans clashed.
*Bing*
*Reward determined*
[Quest: survive]
[Quest status: completed]
*Reward*
[Revitalization: All points revived to half of its original count]
*Duration*
[1 hour]
#Note: can be used only once in a day.
The others saw the message and for a second they felt relieved that they might get something worthwhile after seeing "reward" but then their hopes were dashed as they saw the rewards given to them. But soon after, they all began to feel this new wave of energy rising in their bodies. And while they couldn't explain it all, Rodney had a pretty good idea of what was happening as he stared at his profile.

"Huh, so thats how the skill works. It gave me half of my health and energy point back. But that was it, no changes in my attributes. But this should do, I think" Rodney thought to himself. The others might have seen the vivid description of what was happening too but they hadn't leveled up to 10 yet where their stats and profile would be displayed to them. So the only one who understood how the skill worked well was Rodney.
*Bing*
[Congratulations, you have paid half of your loan]
[User owed 100 energy points]
[-50 energy points] (paid)
[Warp skill used when user had no energy points remaining]
[User loaned 50 energy points to use skill]
[Warp: 50 energy points]
[50 energy points ] (owed)
"What the..."
"Right now?." Rodney questioned the system in frustration. He had just watched his reward get taken away from him and he wasn't exactly happy.
"Well didn't you read what the skill said from before?. You had no energy points when you used the skill. Now, you didn't think the skill was free right?. It had loaned you and now it requests that you pay it back double the amount you loaned. Hahaha isn't this system fascinating?" Gypson said with a laugh at the end.
But even as his taunts were annoying, he had just made the whole situation clear to Rodney and now he understood why the system had taken back the energy points awarded to him. Now the question was what he was going to do without the energy points.
"This is not the time to acknowledge how " great" the system is. Now do you know how I can recover my energy points or not?" Rodney asked.
"You can't really do that now. The option isn't available, yet. Though if you wait till tomorrow it should fill up back to normal" Gypson replied and this comment only angered Rodney the more.
"Listen, there will be no tomorrow for me if i don't find a way out of this. Thanks for nothing Rodney said as he imagined himself slamming a door shut on Gypson and coming back to Now only find out the others had gotten to work and were already done with the trap.
"You sure this will work?" Rodney asked.
"Well, unless whatever it is that is coming can fly, well then no. But we do have provision for that already" Johan replied as he stared up at the trees.
"Well it had better work because they are here!!!" Blaze said
"Come on, you all know the drill" Eiko said and immediately they all scrambled to where Johan stood. And Rodney who had been busy with something else was quite lost until they called on him to join them.
"OK, now what?" Rodney asked as he joined them in standing awkwardly close to each other.
"Now...we hide" Johan said and immediately and immediately a round wall of earth rose and covered them all in a bottling manner. And then Johan began to punch certain sides and holes were made in them. And after a while of punching round the earth container, he had stopped. Now from the outside, it looked just like a normal rock only with holes in certain places in them. And the fact that the base was attached to the ground gave it a more natural look.
*Rumble*
"Loud indistinct noises*
"Looks like they are here" Blair said.
"Unbelievable!!" Johan said as he looked through one of the holes of the earth container outside.
*Roar!!!!!!"
"We might be needing another plan" Rodney said and the others couldn't agree more as they all peeked through their individual holes.
