Ryu was still sitting next to Arolia, Trying to steal every bit of luck he could. It was prolonged practice. To steal someone's luck the least you need is time. He was sitting there for two hours already and only managed to get 7 percent of 10 he was supposed to.

In those two hours, strangely nothing misfortunate happened. It was like Arolia's luck was repelling everything coming their way. Ryu felt complicated using the flower-like this but what could he do? At the end of the day, he had to make it through alive.

Thankfully, Luck-pickpocketing didn't require too much concentration, while practicing it he could do something else. Like reading the book in his head.

Ryu thought of techniques 'Mantra of Eternity and Luck Leech' and magically a glorious book opened up in his mind. He had only read two pages of the book which gave him two techniques. He hoped all of the left pages could give him a new one.

He opened the book and re-read the already known techniques. It might have given him a brand new skill but at least he strengthened his existing foundation.

When he reached the third page though, once again his eyes started glowing with a golden light. He had learned a new technique!

Once Ryu understood the essence of skill he became dazed. His mind couldn't take on so many shocking techniques and possibilities. One thing He couldn't understand was how did author didn't only became aware that luck is manipulatable but proved it in this book. That aside the new sub-skill he learned was...

Luck Exchange!

It was a truly magical thing, he dared to say that it was so magical it was comparable with the system. If with the system you can use the experience as a sacrifice to speed up your cultivation then with Luck Exchange you could sacrifice luck to benefit yourself in many ways. For example, if you don't have the money you could always use some of your Luck and Boom! You found money on the ground.

Of course, usage of luck was much more complex than that but before Ryu could reach a higher level he had to master the fundamental one first.

In a way, Luck Exchange was more useful than the system. When experience could only be used to faster your cultivation or to identify things you could not use it for anything else whilst you can exchange luck for anything you want.

Ryu decided to put this technique into action and get a more in-depth understanding of it.

' Sigh... It would have been much better if I could get some delicious food...' He thought this whilst using Luck Exchange. As he thought that, he felt that five percent of his luck has been stolen!

' five percent is too much! how am I going to survive in here without it! It better be something worthwhile.' Ryu was annoyed. He had been sitting there for hours already, stealing some precious luck but all of sudden he lost half of it! But Ryu could do nothing now so why think so much over the spilled milk? He quickly calmed down and waited for something to happen.

Ryu waited five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes, twenty minutes. But unfortunately, nothing happened he was still sitting there just waiting. He was losing hope gradually but suddenly something happened.

A huge bird flew above him. It looked like a Roc. Lighting crackled around its feathers giving it an overwhelming image. Ryu was captivated by Roc's majestic appearance, he really wanted to ride it.

suddenly, something fell from the bird. It was falling straight in Ryu's direction. It grew as it got closer and closer to his face. And When it finally reached him he was prepared to catch it.

Crack!

It was an egg!

It broke when his hands connected with its shell and everything splashed on him. He was covered in eggshells and their juices, there was no place where he was clean.

'What the hell!? I paid 5 percent for this shit!? I want a refund!!!' If he was angry then, he was pissed now. How could this happen? He just wished something to eat not to swim in!

In the end, he could do nothing but grumble how unfair he had been dealt with. All in all, at least he got to know how it worked and what to expect when he did his next exchange.

' hmm... What should I do now? I can't just leave. With my current luck, it's almost guaranteed that I will die before I reach the city. Hell! I would even bet that after 2 minutes of running I would encounter a wild beast with a black Star Core at least.' He had only stolen Arolia's luck and it wasn't enough to restore his previous luck. He estimated that if he could steal sixty percent of its luck then it would be comparable with his normal one. That made him think.

' If my old luck equals it's sixty percent it means this thing had almost double mine...' Ryu was truly envious. What he needed now the most was luck But he couldn't Leech of Arolia anymore, he had already reached a limit of 10% on one target.

' Sigh... let me just read the book...' He went through his mind and reached the fourth page. But instead of technique, he found that it was just a description of some sort.

" Every living being is given a certain amount of luck at birth. It follows that being until its death. That doesn't mean you can not change your luck. There are as many luck talismans as luck curses in this world, so your luck is never a constant number. "

" When you become sufficiently lucky you might feel invincible. That is right! Luck is a form of invincibility that cannot be understated. It can turn a grave situation into the most benefitting one. It can turn trash into gold. It can turn a losing game into the winning one. But there is one thing that even the luckiest person has to bow down before. And that thing is power. The absolute power that can ignore everything and everyone and still strike true. That is why this book is breathing technique and not solely luck gathering technique."

Ryu felt a wave of shivers run down his spine. He was clearly enjoying his time with luck techniques so much that he forgot about the Mantra Of Eternity. The main point he learned from the fourth page was that luck is not invincible and that ultimately everything you need is absolute power. He was sure to ingrain these words in his mind.

With that in mind, he decided to start practicing Mantra Of Eternity. When he thought of Mantra Of Eternity, the book flipped through its own pages in a breeze and only stopped when it reached the description of Mantra Of Eternity.

" Until the creation of the universe, there only were two 'states': nothingness and somethingness. Nothingness was everywhere, it crumpled over somethingness in size. If Nothingness and Somethingness were compared, Somethingness was only one percent of nothingness. That somethingness is called Chaos sea. It was a sea that consisted of only one element, The Source energy. The source energy is the father of every element."

" But source energy lacked only one element to become 'complete' and it was pure elemental energy Which was trapped inside Nothingness. If source energy is a father to every element in the universe, Pure elemental energy would be a mother. They both needed each other so Chaos Sea clashed with Nothingness. In short, nobody won, but a byproduct of their clash is the universe we currently live."

" Upon creation of the universe, there was set of primordial words echoing throughout the space. They are said to be containing the truth of everything in the world. The Nine Words Of Power. They are begging of everything and Mantra Of Eternity is the only breathing technique that can connect to these words...
