Painful Memories

Well, so I'm back. It's summer so I have time to write. But I'm on something else which I do not post on this account that takes me time so I will not be able to upload often.

For those who are waiting for a chapter on my other story, I will not promise anything. I can post regularly as I can post one or two times a month. It depends if I have some inspiration or not.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Behind a mountain range, not too far from the black iron kingdom, a very destructive battle took place.

A battle between two individuals, an extremely fierce battle between two of the strongest cultivators of that time.

The individuals were so fast that they couldn't be seen. So strong that each attack sent shock waves in all directions that destroyed the nearby mountains.

And unfortunately one of those shock waves reached a village. Once a very peaceful village, they were self-sufficient.

It was not a big village, they were something like five hundred people living here and because they were not far from the Black iron kingdom and the village was built in a sort of valley, surrounded by mountains, there were not a lot of wild beasts and even then they were not that strong, the strongest being at the late stage of the Virtual Disaster Realm.

But the once peaceful village now became a battlefield.

Corpses scattered everywhere, houses in ruins, children crying other their mother's flattened corpses, mothers carrying their children and running in the hope to escape this hell.

It was the apocalypse for those people who only knew peaceful times.

The two individuals did not seem to notice the destruction they caused, the land changing after each attack, and the massacre they were causing.

Everything was seen through the eyes of someone, 6's child eyes.

This event happened years ago when 6's was still an innocent child. A child who after this day will see her life turning upside down if we can even call this a life.

She was one of the few survivors of this unfortunate massacre.

After what seemed days, the fight finally ended. But the nightmare for the little girl just began.

One of the individuals fighting was a middle-aged man practising 'evil methods' and had great ambitions but unfortunately for him, his dreams of supremacy were crushed when the Iron's Kingdom King received word of his conspiracy.

The kind wasn't an arrogant idiot, he knew he jas to cut the root before it could grow. So without further ado, he went to kill the one who is threatening his position.

It was like this, that the unfortunate accident that killed almost a whole village, letting only a few survivors, began.

Thinking that he killed him, the king left quickly as, although he won, he received some severe injuries that needed to be treated fast.

But the middle-aged man was still alive, although he had a foot in the grave there was still some hope for him. And luckily he cultivated an art that allowed him to absorb the life force of another individual, he only needed people to absorb.

Luckily for him, a village was not far and although most of the villagers were dead, their blood essence hasn't completely dissipated.

He set up a quick formation and sucked all the dead's blood essence to treat his injuries. But one of the downsides of doing this without preparation is, as absorbing non-refined is dangerous, his life force was damaged and he grew old suddenly.

The survivors were terrified, their village was destroyed, family and friends were killed and now an injured man sucked dry their loved ones' dead bodies and suddenly aged like millennia passed by in a second.

They did not understand what was happening, she was returning home like normal and suddenly hell broke out. And the scary weirdo sucked dry her fellow's bodies like candy, which probably also include her family.

The now creepy old man suddenly released his soul pressure as he condensed runes from his energy. Each rune then flew in the head of every survivor.

And from this moment on every lucky survivor will live as a mere doll, an empty shell only made to follow orders.

From this moment on the little girl, identity was locked away, and Six was born.

"It was as I expected. Some cliche bullsh*t. Ahh... Now, what do I do?" I murmured as I removed my hand and got off the girl's bed.

It did not take much time to find my answer. I'm not a saint, honestly, I can't give a flying f*ck about her poor life.

I can't do much of this girl, not the others, her mind is literally broken, the parasite in her soul took root to deed, and it'll be a pain to cure her soul.

"Don't tell me you'll let her like that?" Celicia suddenly appeared behind me as she wrapped her hand around my neck.

"Well, what do you want to do with her? She doesn't have any use. I could save her but it's more work than it's worth." I said as I racked my brain to find her some worth.

"I don't know. You could use her as an assassin or spy. She already has some foundation. If you give her the good bloodline and technique she could become the next Spy and Assassin's God." She said as she floated around me.

"Ah, you know what f*ck it. In any case, I lose nothing. But I'll only save her, for the other I'll just ease their pain. To lazy to do more." I said as soul force began to leak from me into the girl's head.

My soul force forcefully entered the core of her soul as I was still careful as to not give her permanent damage.

My soul force wrapped around the rune and its innumerable root before crushing them in one go, destroying all trace of it.

At the same time, I could hear a painful scream from the creepy old man's room. When I destroyed the rune I essentially destroyed a part of the old man's soul.

Six lost consciousness as I destroyed the rune controlling her. I transferred her into my personal world where one of my clones will take care of her, of course, I pretexted her existence with my energy or should've dissipated when coming in contact with my world's atmosphere.

As for me I left the room and used one of my favourite power, Gluttony from tensura. Dark and ominous energy left me and shot in all directions, devouring the dolls.

I did not have any remorse for doing this, yes I could have saved them but like I said I'm not a hero. I can't give a f*ck at their suffering and I at least saved them from more by having them return to their base state.

I may seem cruel but they are nothing more than a mass of energy having taken human form. Everything from this universe is nothing more than energy having taken sentience. If they leave it they'll return to their original form, mere energy.

I gained nothing from absorbing them, the energy augmented my reserve by less than one negligible per cent and their knowledge wasn't even worth mentioning.

"It quite cruel... Easing their pain with something similar to their worst nightmare." Celicia said seeing how I dealt with them.

I just shrugged my shoulders at her comment. She seems concerned but she is probably the least affected by this, she can see the true nature of a being and for her, those people are not even alive, just a mass of energy moving ready to disappear at the mere contact of stronger energy.

I continued to absorb the poor's doll as I passed through the corridors direction of the old man's room.

His cries were incessant each time I killed one of his dolls, a part of his was also destroyed. And soul attack at the worsts ones as they inflict the most pain.

For ten minutes the ear-piercing cries of the old man resounded in the underground. He could not even pass out as technically a soul can't sleep or faint. The only way for him to don't feel anything is. to go in a state where his consciousness is locked away, like when my soul was drifting through the Void.

I finally arrived in front of his room. I pushed the door open and found myself before an agonizing old man. Tears and snort covered his wrinkled face, foam was overflowing as hoarse cries left his dry throat. His noticeable purple vein now we're bulged to the extreme, ready to explode at any moment. His muscle spasming now and then as his eyes were unfocused almost rolling back.

"What a mess seriously. Aren't you more than a hundred years old? Have some manners." I was clearly mocking him as I looked at his horrible face, it could make a good jump scare.

I snapped my finger and she disappeared, teleported somewhere on 'Hell Island'.

(A/N: Read Side Chapter, the one just before, if you don't know what I mean by 'Hell Island')

The old man reappeared in the worst place on 'Hell Island', the training camp which was inspired by where souls are 'taken care of' in the real Hell.

Finishing what I had to do I left the place and teleported above the capital, but not before launching a small black hole in the underground.

I then spread my sense to pinpoint the king's location before teleporting where he was.

I suddenly appeared in an office with a middle-aged man looking through an endless amount of documents.

He didn't sense my presence as I simply did not let him.

I went behind him without making a sound and looked through a giant window where we could see all the capital from above.

"Quite the view you have here Mister King," I said without turning back and it looked cool.

The king was startled, he did not sense anything, even with his divine sense always spread around the palace, but surprisingly he spoke first.

"Ahh... What do you want? Land? Women? Money? Fame maybe? They take it and leave. I don't have time for this." He said without looking back.

He knew if I wanted to kill him I would've done it already. So he calmed down and asked upset to have been interrupted from his work.

"I already have most of it so don't worry. And even if I needed something I would've just taken it, allowed or not." I said as I sat in a chair on the other side of the desk, just in front of him.

"Then what is that you want?" He asked curiously.

"Nothing. Just came to say I took care of your cousin."

As I said that he looked at me weirdly because he thought that he didn't have any family except his wife and children.

"You see the one you thought you killed twenty years ago was still alive and abducting poor adventurers," I said with a straight face.

Yes, as he was tortured on 'Hell Island' I took a peek at his memories and discovered that they were cousins.

He was shocked to hear that, he was sure she destroyed his body completely in his final attack.

"How?! I killed him in this final attack! His body disintegrated!" He exclaimed as he slammed his desk.

"Well, you should've been more attentive then. And also do you know how much damage you caused in your fight? Although it's not my problem I don't think it's befitting a King."

"What damages? Your speaking about the terrain destroyed?"

"Nah... I'm speaking of casualties."

"What casualties? From my knowledge, no one lived there except some beasts."

"And a village. Probably more than one. Destroyed in your fight. Lives ruined, etc."

He was going to respond but I quickly cut him off as I am not here to lecture him.

"Well anyway. I just came to tell you that I killed your cousin. Just by courtesy." I said as I prepared to leave.

"Wait! At least let me thank you! Without you, I'm sure he would've done even more causalities. If you need anything please tell me, I will use everything in my power to help you." He said as he bowed.

"Maybe there's something you could help me with." I said, smiling as I thought of something.
