Waves

My eyes fluttered, teetering between open and closed, courtesy of the vibrations I felt swaying my body.

I still felt sluggish, as if not much time had passed. Betraying my belief, however, the room was no longer pitch black and illuminated by the nightlight.

I rubbed away the lingering weariness from my eyes, soon subjected to another round of the bed shaking as Thalia sat on her knees before me, her dainty fingers lightly jiggling my shoulder.

"Lei... Lei! I have some soup with your name on it. P-Please answer... I-I didn't cause you any pain while waking you, did I?"

"Not in the tiniest, mistress. Your wake-up calls are always soft as can be."

Steadying myself on my elbows, I clasped Thalia's thigh, feeling her shiver under my cool touch as I tried to push up into a sitting position.

Both arms and legs shook uncontrollably under the minimal pressure I applied.
