CHAPTER 8

We walked out through the smoky air towards the gate leading to the school. Ife had stopped crying but her sobs could still be heard. I was beyond sad at what just happened. She would have survived but after the explosion, she lost a lot of blood. I felt a hand rub my shoulder that shook me out of my thoughts. I looked at it and followed it to the owner. It was Musa. I exhaled a hard breath I didn't know I was holding as a drop of tears fell from my eyes. Musa shook his head and I nodded mine. I know he didn't want me to cry but this was too hard on me. What were the chances that we would survive? Anybody could be next to die even though we didn't pray for such.

"We need to find a way to leave the school. Let's go to the girl's restroom, sit and talk about it for awhile." Musa suggested.
