Chapter Eleven: The Two Secrets

A whole day has passed since they discovered their new home. And Lysette had still not mentioned a single word about her discovery. This was something she wished to keep from Penny for the time being. The reasons being something she wished to keep for herself until the time was right. Though Penny, still had not shown her own secret to Lysette. However today might change that.

Penny and Lysette had decided to train, this mainly due to Penny not being able to hold herself back any longer. She wanted to prove to Lysette that she could indeed hold her own against her.

Standing out in the front of the cabin, the two stood face to face with one another. Neither one circled this time, as much had changed between them. Lysette knew that Penny possessed a great strength and would be more cautious as coming in direct contact with a strike like hers, could prove to be painful.

At first, Lysette had not wanted to make the first move. Instead, she wanted to see what Penny had learned from their previous training. But she began to grow impatient, seeing that the look of hesitation in Penny's eyes, would not see her move first.

And so, Lysette charged at Penny, her first drawn out, ready to strike the moment she was in range, but Penny ducked under the arm and rolled to behind her guardian, her hand, lightly grazing the ground as she rolled.

" You won't be able to dodge me like that. I was not coming at you with full speed. " Lysette smirked as she charged again, however, this time, the ground began to soften and as Lysette's foot met with the ground, it began to sink, causing her to fall.

" What the.." Lysette looked back to see what she had tripped over but there was nothing there.

At first, the old world could not quite figure out what had happened though she rose back to her feet and returned her gaze back to her opponent who was standing in front of her with a small smile on her face, proud that her plan worked.

Without another word, Lysette charged again and again, Penny rolled out of the way, repeating the same action. However, this time, the guardian had caught on that there must have been some trick at play. So, instead of charging directly, she circled around Penny, out of the way of the disturbed ground and charged at her from behind.

This attack, did connect, however as Lysette connected her punch into Penny's gut, Penny turned, placing her arm onto Lysette shoulder, and used her strength to force Lysette to the ground.

And now, it was time for Penny's assault.

Lifting her foot behind her, Penny swung her leg to kick Lysette as hard as she could, this was blocked however by Lysettes hand, which grabbed onto Penny's ankle. With one swift motion, Lysette raised up Penny's leg which sent Penny flying backwards, crashing hard onto the ground.

" You have learned some new tricks I see.." Lysette growled as she made it back to her feet. At the time, she had not connected that Penny was using her power to shift the stability of the ground but she suspected that something was wrong. Thus, she would have to be more careful.

Penny, instead of panicking, swung her body around and rose to her feet, almost quicker than Lysette who was surprised by the ability Penny now possessed. And before Lysette could launch her next attack, Penny charged at her Guardian, though she did not seem to be prepared for an attack. This threw Lysette off a little.

" What is she- " Penny ducked past Lysette, raising up her leg, and kicking down hard into Lysettes Leg which crippled Lysette's stance and had her kneeling to the ground in pain.

Penny leaned down and whispered confidently into Lysette's" Do not show your hand until you have too" and with that, she raised up her foot again and stomped her foot as hard as she could against Lysettes spine, sending the guardian crashing down onto the ground. She was in pain now, she was in trouble. Her guard had been thrown off, she had taken only a few hits but she was left defenseless in only two strikes from Penny. Something had changed with Penny, Lysette could tell. The vast improvement was something that she could not have possibly been prepared for. But, she would have to make the best of the situation.

After planning out her next attack, Lysette swung her leg around, connecting hard with Penny's outer thigh, which had sent Penny crashing down to her knees. After the first strike, Lysette swung her body around and connected a blow right into Penny's face with her fist. The strength and power put behind the strike was only half of what Lysette could have put behind it, though it still sent Penny down to the ground, half unconscious.

" ah...nice try kiddo" Lysette smiled down at Penny as she approached her, leaning forward, picking her up and placing her over her shoulder to carry her back inside" The fight was over for now come out and though Penny had tried, she could not overcome Lysette just yet. The old wolf had resilience. There had been so many times when she had been down-and-out for the count come, but she always persevered. She always came through in the end, and that is what has kept her alive this long. A lesson that Penny would need to learn. A lesson that Lysette was confident she could teach. But for now, they would need to rest.
