Chapter Sixty: A Bond Of Family

Aurora had enacted her plan to give supplies to the Lycan Kingdom but knew that her father would be furious if he were discover that she had went behind his back. This Kingdom was meant to be hers but she still had much to learn in his eyes. However, Aurora knew all too well what the games she would have to play in order to achieve what she wanted. And she was more than confident in her abilities to reach her goal.

Aurora had returned to her room, where she found herself retreating too more often than not to do her plotting in private where she could have peace and quiet. Though, she had not been within her room for too long when she recieved a knock on her door.

" I'm sorry to disturb your voice" a meek voice called out. Aurora recognized it as her mother's maiden who looked after her mother's needs no matter how trivial they may be.

" What is it? " Aurora demmanded to know.

" Your father and Mother have requested your presence in the throne room. The supplies will be arriving in the Kingdom tonight and the New Guard captain has gone missing, and they need help to organize the guards so that they can move the supplies through the city safely" the voice called back.

It was then that Aurora knew something was wrong. The supplies had been spotted not to far from the Kingdom and would need to be escorted to the castle where they would be stored and protected by the Royal Guard.

Aurora rushed to the Throne room where hers Mother and Father were waiting for her.

She arrives to find that her father immediatly begins questioning her " Where is Theos?" He demmanded to know. Aurora shrugged playfully, trying to think of a response that would keep her admitting some form of guilt or responsibility.

" I know you know where he is..." The King groans, knowing full well that Aurora had no intentions of admitting her fault.

" The supplies will be here any minute and considering I believe you had something to do with this. You are going to organize the escort" And with that, her father turns and sits back down upon his throne.

" Of course Father" Aurora smiles and bows as she makes her way back to the guard house.

It took only a few minutes for her to gather all the Guards that would be needed. All the while, Aurora did her best to remain calm and think of strategies of how to fix the mess that she had created though she blamed her father. If he would have just given the Lycans the supplies, they would not be in this situation but she would find a way to ensure this become beneficial for the Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Penny, Ember and Raven are making their way to the Kingdom. Raven and Penny agreed it would be better to not teleport there. Though it would be faster to do so, it would also give them less time on figuring out how to deal with Ember and ensure that she is safe.

And though getting to the kingdom was extremely important, Raven had other things on her mind. She had not forgotten about the conversation before Ember had awoken and she would not let Penny forget either.

" You are my daughter..aren't you? " Raven asked bluntly, which caught Penny off guard.

Deep down, Penny knew this was coming but she had also hoped that it could have been avoided until much later.

" I can't answer that " Penny responded, making Raven chuckle in disbelief. " Oh come on, we both know the truth" Raven laughed again.

" I must admit..it's nice knowing that I live long enough to have a daughter. Gives me hope considering we are going somewhere where I could easily die" Raven tried to Joke but Penny was holding back tears.

" If you really are my daughter, then I guess I did pretty well. Because you turned out great" Raven tried to continue the conversation as Penny did her best to contain her emotions.

" You weren't in my life.._you didn't raise me at least. You died when I was an infant" Penny answered which struck Ravens heart like a poisoned blade. " Oh..im..sorry. I know I would've loved to have been in your life if I hadnt..well..died.." Raven was now struggling to keep her composure.

" How did..- " She couldn't bring herself to ask the question.

" To my knowledge, you were vaporized from exisistence" Penny answered, almost knowing the answer to the question before her mother could ask it.

" Oh" Raven whimpered as they continued to run.

" Well, for what it's worth, I'm glad that you turned out the way you did. You came here, to set things right. To make a difference..to make the world a better place. How could I not be proud of you for that" Raven smiled as she thought about all the things she missed out on with Penny's life. Though they had just met within this life, they also had a bond, that was deeper than their blood. It was their souls. Penny was a part of Ravens soul"

" I'm doing this because I have to do it. I want to bring peace to the world, and maybe, prevent your death" Penny was saying the most that she could. But inside she was crushing. There was so much that she wanted to say and do within this moment but so many lives depended on her and she couldn't stop now. Not even for a second.

" There will be time for us to get to know one another. We will make that time. I promise" Raven glanced over at Penny who smiled, tears pouring down her face as they ran.

" Come on you two.." Ember called back to Penny and Raven who began speeding up their pace. They were drawing closer to the Kingdom but it would still take time without using their magic or any aid of transport. This would not be efficient if they wanted to get there to stop the Invasion.

Without warning, a black mist formed from the ground and lifted both Raven and Penny off the ground.

" What the Hell is happening? " Penny screamed as Ember was slowly lifted from the ground as well, who clenched onto the mist trying to not fall.

" I thought this would help us" Raven shrugged as the mist began darting forward to the Kingdom. With this aid, they would get there much quicker but would still provide them time to learn as much as they could about what happened to Ember.
