Though she hated to admit that she had possibly made a mistake, Ember would now have to deal with an even more unpredictable Aurora. Who now had the ability to ensure that she prolonged her exisistence and her reign within the Kingdom. However, she revealed her hand to Ember which could only mean that she had other plans. Though revealing her identity to Aurora was to prevent the majority of trouble she would normally face, it created several other issues and now she had to find a way to fix that. Constant supervision. And whilst, her parents would disapprove, There was not much that they could do about it.
Ember found most her time, spent watching over loving conversations between both Aurora and Khalivar and important decisions regarding the Kingdom. And though for the most part, things had seemed rather normal. The pregnancy did not seem to disrupt any of Auroras daily functions whatsoever. In fact, she seemed to be empowered by the pregnancy. Ember had attributed it to the power of immunity for the time being, which was sickening.
But, the time was fast approaching, it wouldn't be long before Kara would be born and news from the Lycan Kingdom indicated that the Queen was in labor, which could only mean that everything was going according to plan.
" An ever watchful eye, an ever present guardian" Aurora smiled as Ember stood beside Aurora, awaiting for the daily meetings and discussions regarding commonwealth concerns. Which as of lately, had been very minimal and few and far between.
" Well, someone has to do it" Ember answered quickly, trying to minimize the amount of conversation that they would have.
" Well you've done an amazing job so far" Aurora congratulated.
" Just do your job" Ember kept her arms behind her back, and stood straight and firm within her place as though she were trying to convey that she truly belonged there. To convince others that had already come to accept her place next to the Princess.
" I can do my job and talk with an old friend at the same time" Aurora laughs as the first citizen steps forward, seeking help for repairs to damage to their shop. Aurora offered compensation and guards to aid in the restoration of the shop and the citizen was dismissed happily. " We are not friends" Ember did not look to Aurora for the sheer amount of anger that she felt towards the Princess, could be felt within the entire room.
" We are not friends and we are barely allies, we are working together because it is in the best interest of everyone's safety. But if you have something planned Aurora understand that it will not work" Ember wanted Aurora who finally turned to Ember.
" You have your goals and I have mine. The fact that they align makes our partnership mutually beneficial. But I will not go into the dust as though I never mattered. And for you to assume that my last words to you were anything more than to that effect, is disrespectful. I am not going to cause chaos, and I am not going to stand in the way of what must be done. But I will also not allow for my demise to be the same as the precious cycles. And to that end, had it ever occured to you that with this knowledge, and my continued exisistence that perhaps I could be of great use? You speak of my daughter as though she is a savior..but a savior still needs guidance. And I am the best equipped at teaching her the fundamental lessons that she will need to succeed in her destiny. Not to mention, if she should fail, as she has done so many times before, had it ever occured that perhaps if our relationship had been different, that perhaps she would have been an even better leader?" Aurora was doing her best to twist things to her favor, as she had always done and yet her words had truth to them. Noone could mistake that Aurora was capable. If her goal was truly remain alive and not to cause destruction, then that would be interesting..however nothing could ever truly be that simple.with the Princess.
" If you were to remain alive and also remain constructive then I would not stand in your way..you have a place here even if it is completely wrong. You are intelligent and you know how to get what you want but in order to achieve what you are wanting, you will have to change your stances. Something I don't believe you can do" Ember had well founded doubts.
" You are going to have to trust me, and see what happens just like we all have to. But if I can change my own fate by making the right calls then that is what I will do" Aurora turned her attention back to the next citizen.
" The baby should be due in a few months" Ember pointed out, which shot through Auroras heart like a bolt of lightning. Knowing that her time to enact her plan, was running low. It wouldn't be long now before she would have to find another way to ensure her life's continuance.
