Ember and Aurora, despite their past differences had seemed to make peace for the time being. Coming to an understand of each other's place within the cycle, and understanding that it would take more than just comprimise to achieve their goals.
Though, as the days passed, Aurora became increasingly reliant on others to aid her. She was late into her pregnancy now, and the baby would be due any day now.
Ember and Aurora were ready for this, and kept their secret closely guarded. And though she was still nervous Aurora was ready to be a mother. Khalivar, though busy aiding the Kingdom to the best of his ability, taking care of most duties for Aurora whilst under the guidance of Ember, monitoring his decision making though he seemed to fall in line for the most part.
Though, despite knowing that Ember could easily dispose of him, he had his own concerns within his mind that he felt he needed to address. He had seen the way that Ember and Aurora had gotten close. Spending so much time together without any explanation whatsoever to him. And he decided to confront Ember, even at the risk of his own wellbeing.
" What is your purpose here? " Khalivare questioned as he made made his rounds through the palace. Ember followed him, supervising whilst Aurora rested.
" I am here to ensure the saftey of the heir" Ember explained, having expected this conversation to happen eventually and preparing her answers prior.
" And why is that? Who are you to us? " he asked, nervously.
" Listen, I am going to be honest with you. I am here because I have to be. Because though it might not make sense to you, your daughter is rather important. And before you ask, I am not here on behalf of anyone other than the interest of making sure that peace..does happen" she answered.
" And once our daughter is born, do you intend on staying? "
" I intend on being here as long as I need too. I have no interest in anything other than what I have discussed with you" Ember answered.
" I know that you believe me to be no threat to you. And you are probably right. But I love my wife, even if the marriage was arranged. And I will love my daughter just as much" Khalivar stopped so that he could face this woman properly.
" I know, trust me..I know " Ember smiles softly, having known his intense love for Aurora and Kara. She had watched him closely through the cycles and though his past was tragic, she knew that he had his families best interest at heart.
" I am not working against you if that is what you are worried about. I am here to help, and I will do what I have to do to make sure your family is safe" Ember, whilst mainly focused on the wellbeing of Kara, knew that Aurora was needed as well, so that saftey was extended to Aurora though Ember would never allow Aurora to know this.
" Thank you. Believe it or not, it's difficult to be in the position I've found myself in. Every since stepping into the Kingdom, I have to try my best to do right by a people that for the most part, have caused my own people nothing but issues. And yet, I am looking past that because I want to see prosperity. I truly do" khalivar, even when young, had always been a natural leader. And despite taking the back seat to Aurora for the most part, he was till very capable. And even by his presence, and connecting with the people, he was changing the views on Vampires for the first time in years and that positive impact, was doing nothing else but benefiting both Kingdoms.
" For what it's worth, no matter how complicated the world gets, I know you have good intentions. And you have my respect for that, unlike most here. But keep doing the hard work, because you are changing the world..one step at a time" Ember assured.
" I need to Check on Aurora and see that she is doing well. But if you should need to speak again, please, don't hesitate " and with that, Ember dissapeared, leaving Khalivar to his remaining tasks.
" I will make difference" Khalivar continued to repeat to himself as he wandered the halls, instructing castle on what to do and how to get it done as though they had never done their jobs before. " Even if, noone really believes me " Khalivar's anger within himself stemmed from the lack of purpose he found within his home. Though he was far more capable to do what needed to be done at his home, He found himself never being allowed to do much of anything. It was here, And a kingdom completely different where he was originally not even welcome that he found a purpose. A purpose that he would stand behind no matter what the cost. He had a family, he had a home, and he was not second to Aurora, he was her equal. And he would prove that.
