Chapter One Hundred One: The Queens Stand

The kingdom of the Lycans, Had grown rather troublesome since Lysette had left. She had loved rather abruptly and left the king and defend for themselves on how best to proceed with the recent knowledge that their newborn son would be promised to a woman who had randomly appeared before them. This woman, Though her claims were wild and eccentric also found ground within tradition. A tradition that the Royal family had sworn to uphold and protect it all cost. A tradition that would determine the future of their own kingdom before any other kingdom. And though it may have been unprecedented, There was no possible way that they could find themselves out of this situation. If they were to turn her down, They would surely find themselves at conflict with the other families of Nobility.

The king had decided that until they could make a decision it would be best that this information remained within the kingdom. This meant that until a decision had been made no one would be allowed to enter or leave the kingdom, Lysette being the one exception since it was assumed that she was acting on behalf of the best interest of the Kingdoms saftey.

Sybil Had done her absolute best to monitor the situation and keep track of all that was taking place. And for the most part there had been nothing but hostility within the castle among the guards and the Royal family on how best to proceed. Sybil Have been permitted entrance into the castle though she were a mere citizen, under the orders and protection of Lysette. Her words carried very little weight, she she knew that would not be able to offer suggestions on how to best proceed but she could at least listen.

The most of the meetings rarely went anywhere towards a solution. The part that Sybil found most interesting was the way that the mother of this unborn child, reacted.

She seemed to be very docile and very calm. She rarely spoke unless spoken too and she rarely made efforts to offer any solution and simply just remained within the castle as the constant battle for solutions continued forward.

" I know that we made a promise but what else can I possibly do? " The king pounded his fest upon the table. "what am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to lie to the Witches? Am I supposed to deny this woman the right thar her family was given? " The king was obviously distressed. And unlike most days, The Queen herself had attended this meeting for the 1st time since giving birth.

" We found ourselves and quite the predicament. And while this is most unfavorable to us, we must honor the tradition. We will meet with the Witches and we will discuss options" The Queen was wise, and highly respected but many still disagreed with her decision.

" They will not be understanding! " One noble shouted. " How could you not know of this beforehand? Why is this something that only came to light recently? " Another noble shouted.

The sheer amount of critics that had come forward since learning of this deal, had been enormous.

" We did not know about this because it's not us that made the deal. I'm not sure as to why this was not kept in records for us but we didn't know. We are in the same position that you all are. But that does not mean that we are not going to look out for the best interest of the Kingdom. And we will find a solution but you will have to bare with us while we do so" The King explained.

" You are waiting for the Choosing ceremony? " Another noble questioned.

Waiting for the Choosing ceremony had been a big part of the plan for handling this, the King could not lie. But both he and the Queen knew that they would have to do more.

" We will be sending a deligate to the Witches soon, and we will arrange a meeting to discuss how to proceed, regardless of the Choosing. And I would appreciate your patience" The King tried to be as calm as he could so that he did not instigate further disruptive behavior though the Queen did not share the sentiment of her Husband.

" I would like to speak on this matter. And because I am the Queen, I have the right to do so" The Queen rose form her throne to address the people, a stern expression adorned her face.

" Noone expected this and we are dealing with it. As we have dealt with every issue that has come our way. We have the Kingdoms best interest at heart. But lest you forget, it is our son that is being gambled around here which, we ourselves, do not approve of though it is tradition. And as upset as you all may be, we assure you that your anger can never match ours. We are your King and we are your Queen and my husband, the kind soul that he is, may be to reserved to tell you whereas I am not, back the hell off" The Queens words completely silenced all that listened.

" We are going to fix this issue. We are going to have that treaty. We are going to restore this Kingdom and you are all going to be fine. We know what we are doing. If you have something else you would like to add to the critique of our performance, please, kindly, shove your opinions between your buttcheeks and kindly skip your loaded Posteriors back to your homes because we have had...enough" and with that, The Queen sat back down on her throne, and returned her ever so graceful smile to her face.

The crowd soon thinned as everyone left in complete shock and disgust at the Queens words.

" Honey, that was- "

" What needed to be said " the Queen glared to her husband's direction.

" We are the King and Queen here..and we at the end of the day, make the decisions. They don't have to like it though we would prefer it. We have done everything correctly even when it has gone against our beliefs. And that should account for something" She snarled.

" Yes, but it only gets us so far when our people are suffering already. They see this treaty as a last hope and now that might be taken away and they are concerned" the king reasoned.

" Yes, they are concerned. And so are we. And that is why we will do whatever it takes to ensure that the treaty does happen" The Queen sighed, realizing that life would be easier if only Lysette were here.

" And where is Lysette? "
