Machines of war

I prepared myself, took a deep breath, ignored the pain my body was feeling, and rushed forward as the warrior stepped back and pointed his weapon at me; his eyes had finally steeled themselves and were ready for the fight.

The warrior rapidly lowered his spear, aiming to stab my thighs; I, on the other hand, simply accelerated. The sudden boost in speed caught him off guard, and he wasn't able to use his technique properly.

We both stumbled onto the ground, with me being on top of the enemy warrior, who was holding the shaft using both hands, using the shaft to avoid a direct impact, yet he had somehow managed to injure my right leg, more specifically around the shin.

He had left a small cut in my flesh, yet the blade of his weapon hadn't pierced my armor. Whatever mana technique he had learned, it was easily capable of bypassing the armor, especially in that area not covered by the anti-magic metal.
